Flat Stanley, May 1999
Pretty ugly background color, don't you think?
Mothers day is at the beginning of the month, and this year Stanley joined us on a trip out to California to visit my mother. It was a very last minute type of thing, the air fares were very low a few days before the "Holiday", so we grabbed some tickets and went.
We were in a town called West Covina, which is due west of Los Angeles. It is just before you get to some mountains on the edge of the desert.
While we were there we visited the Rancho Santa Ana Botanic Gardens in Claremont, there's Stanley over there climbing a Cactus. As it was warm out there, he donned his summer cloths, short sleeves, cut off pants and a new haircut.
The trip was very short, we flew out on a Saturday morning and came back on the "Red Eye" flight Sunday night. A Red Eye flight is a flight that leaves very late at night and gets in early the next morning, most people (and Stanley's) sleep on the flight.
