Spice Cake

• 3 sticks unsalted butter
• 3 cups sugar
• 6 eggs
• 4 cups cake flour
• t teaspoons baking powder
• 2 teaspoons baking soda
• 2 teaspoons nutmeg
• 2 teaspoons cinnamon
• 1 teaspoon cloves
• 1 teaspoon salt
• 1 3/4 cup buttermilk

Cream the butter, add in the sugar, then the egg yolks one at a time mixing well after each one. Sift the dry ingredients into the butter mix, and add alternately with the buttermilk, mixing well after each. Beat the egg whites until stiff, fold into the batter.

Bake at 350 for 55 minutes.
