NOTES
FOR TOURNAMENT PARTICIPANTS BACK
to TOP
Tournaments denoted by the * are limited to the members of the Men's Tournament
Association. However, golfing members who are not members of the Men's Tournament
Association may enter the Club Championship and/or the Senior Club Championships
but are required to have an established USGA handicap and pay a $20 entry fee.
-Super-Senior status will be granted to participants who are at least 60 years
of age with a minimum handicap of 18. This applies to all events except the
Club Championship, The Derby and the Cortland Betts Member-Guest. Super-Senior
status means that the individual will play the tournament from the gold tees
and reduce his handicap by five strokes per the USGA's rules of golf (5 strokes
is the difference in course ratings from the white tees to the gold tees). You
must put a "SS" next to your name on the sign-up sheet for all tournaments
requiring an early sign-up. When there is a sign-up with the Starter Tournament,
the individual player is required to declare this "SS" status before
teeing off.
-Sign-up sheets and rules of play for each tournament will be posted at least two weeks prior to play. Consult the bulletin board weekly to keep abreast of tournament play and related information.
-The latest tee times for scheduled sweeps on weekends is 11:00 AM.
-Participants in MTA Tournaments must tee off by 11:00 AM for single day events and on the final day of deadlines for optional or multiple day tournaments.
-Early sign-up required usually implies that the deadline to sign-up is before the close of the Pro Shop on the Wednesday before the scheduled event. Exceptions to this will be posted in a timely fashion.
-All tournaments must be played with at least a threesome of competitors. All scorecards must be properly completed and attested by two players. An incorrect score will result in disqualification.
-The Club Championship, Senior Club Championship and the Derby scores must be posted in the GHIN computer as a tournament score. These scores will be shown with a "T" next to them on the person's score history report.
-In the event of a prolonged weather delay which does not allow the entire field to complete play in any given round, the Committee will determine whether the round shall be completed or cancelled due to time restraints.
-Players who fail to meet the deadlines for extended rounds of play are subject to disqualification.
-MTA tournaments never use match of cards (the pot is split), except for shotgun starts, which will be decided by a "chip-off".
-Tiebreakers for tournaments conform to USGA recommendations except where noted in the posted rules of play from some tournaments.
-A series of optional tournaments will be run by the Pro Shop whenever feasible.
-Rules of play and entry fees will be publicized.
-Information and entry forms for TDGA events will be made available to the membership.
-Reciprocal Play: a greens fee will be charged when playing away, except when CHCC's course is closed for a Men's TDGA event.
