(from the Kriss Usherwood Collection)

NOTE: this kit probably dates back to WW2, it might also have been introduced late war, or immediately postwar … since no dates are indicated, who can tell more ? Data and pictures provided by one of our readers/viewers, Kriss Usherwood, who has quite a remarkable collection of First Aid Kits Thanks again Kriss!

The kit is packed in a rectangular transportable, light, wooden case, like a drawer . Larger in size, it looks very similar to the previously described D type manufactured by M-S-A, although this item is entirely made of wood (plywood), except for the metal locking clips and handle . After withdrawing, the case opens by pulling a small ring, thereby gaining access to the medical contents . Everything is painted olive drab and the only markings are FIRST AID KIT in blue paint, with the relevant logo of Civilian Defense (CD) . There is a label, listing full contents and name of manufacturer i.e. Davis Emergency Equipment Co. Inc.
