If you squint, it sorta looks like a Jaguar
Our daycare logistics demand not merely one but two four-door offspring transportation modules. I found this one almost by accident, but I have been pleasantly surprised -- or corrupted -- by it. Black bumpers give-away its identity: a base-model SL with SOHC engine and minimal optional equipment . . . which I see as a good thing. I would prefer rear-wheel drive; however, y' take what y' can get. It's a bearable way to slip into the grey ranks of middle-age middle-class four-door anonymity. Now for some fat tires, lowering springs, and anti-roll bars . . . .
Saturn is an American anomaly: a small, technically-unique, cleanly-styled, decent-handling sedan sold by a network of (usually) friendly dealers, with a remarkably loyal customer base. Conversely, some critics regard Saturn as technically mediocre or esthetically unrefined, and the styling of early cars -- although distinctive -- was odd.
Due to poor profits and declining sales, plus some questionable design and marketing moves, Saturn may be following Fiero's footsteps to oblivion. Pity.
