Jaguar Mk II

Jaguar Mk II

My Jags were never this nice!

These are great old cars! The first car I owned was a very used 2.4 Mk II. Having no affordable alternative, I became a mechanic. Over several years, I owned four Jaguar Mk II's, two of which ran. I have no usable photos of any of my Jags, so this scan must suffice.

Jaguar made these sedans -- descendant of 2.4 and 3.4 sedans of the 1950's -- from (I think) 1960 through 1967. Like many cool cars of the period, they fell to late-1960's American emission and safety regulations. Available with 2.4, 3.4, and 3.8 liter versions of Jaguar's classic DOHC inline 6-cylinder engine, these cars were fast, stylish, comfortable, and moderately priced. (Jaguar's motto: Grace, pace, space.)

You are looking at the source of the Infiniti J30's retro style, not to mention the newer Jaguar 3.0 and 4.0 S-type. (I suppose Jaguar has the right to knock-off their own designs.)
