Roadcuts of Geologic Interest: I-285
Atlanta's perimeter highway -- the "fence" that once separated
city from suburb -- exhibits a few interesting roadcuts,
mostly in the Brevard Zone.
- EB (clockwise)
near Ashford-Dunwoody Road
- A cut face on right exposes Long Island gneiss in the Brevard Zone.

US 78 (Bankhead Highway / Hollowell Parkway)
- Cut faces on right (northbound and southbound)
expose Brevard Zone mylonite and sheared Palmetto granite.
