Bizzarini GT 1900

Bizzarini GT 1900

Not so bizarre!

Bizzarini? Eh? Who's that? Italy seems to be full of small, obscure makers of slinky autos. If I had not stumbled upon a remaindered copy of the 1967 World Car Catalog, I would never have heard of Bizzarini. Published by the Italian Auto Club, the World Car Catalog attempts to list every car in the world, alphabetically. The 1967 edition is particularly interesting because American emission and safety regulations took general effect with the 1968 model year, excluding from our shores many small and interesting imports. In some ways, 1967 represents the zenith of sports car development.

I have never seen one of these in the metaphoric flesh. But damn! What a sexy-looking car!
