Does your outdoor spa or animal water trough receive enough direct sunlight to use our new third generation ClearDome Solar Water Heating Film for spas, small pools and animal water tanks?

New Product update: The Solar Spa Water Heating Film below has replaced our previous Floating Spa Pads, and is less than 1/3 the cost and easier to use. We no longer need your water surface template, only the tank size and shape, and this unique new design has a variety of other practical uses.

ClearDome Solar Spa Pads
Our new Spa and small pool clear solar water heating film
adds 5-15 degrees of free solar heat to a 7' square hot tub.

Thanks for considering our new money-saving solar water heating clear Spa Film that floats on the water surface and allows free solar energy in to heat the water while trapping heat energy by eliminating evaporation. After over a year of successful beta testing, and over five years of continuous use of our previous generation spa pads by many customers around the USA, this unique durable, UV resistant clear film has been proven sucessful for home hot tubs up to 8', small inflatable pools for children, large and small buckets, and any other open water container exposed to full sunlight.

To see if your spa or pool can use these pads, please consider these points:

First, make sure your spa or small pool is located outdoors in a completely sunny area that receives at least 4-6 hours of direct sunlight in late spring, summer and early fall. Shadows from trees or buildings will slow or stop heating, so check at different times during the day to determine that there is no excessive sun blockage.

We suggest using our heating film in spas under 8 feet across because they are better suited to smaller hot tubs, pools tubs and large buckets.  It is not practical on large swimming pools.

Once you decide if our Spa Film will work for your spa, measure the distance across and tell us the general shape after you click on the proper PayPal order links below to place your order.

For maximum daytime heating the water spa should be covered with the film all or most of the day until the desired water temperature is reached. In warm areas with ample sunlight the water can reach over 107 degrees F, so use shade, add cool water, or pull the film off to moderate water temperatures. Always check the water temperature before getting in.

For proper spa film use, you'll need a good quality water thermometer that reads accurately. For safe usage, the temperature should always be below 104 degrees F when in use. When the pads are on the water surface for daytime heating, the pump should be off and the film in place to generate the heat. This also saves on electricity costs since daytime pumping will be more expensive than night time use. In summer your spa heater should be set for at least two degrees below the normal set temperature so it only comes on after numerous cloudy days.

If you normally to use a top thick insulated cover at night, you'll find that in warm summer months, you won't need to use it if the spa pads are in place.  All of our tests have shown just few degrees lost overnight with insulated spas when only our pads are on the water.
