This picture was taken when she and my father became engaged.

She was only 16 at the time.

I can hardly believe she was only sixteen, but they both always maintained that she was.

Both of them had pictures taken at that time to exchange with each other.

Unfortunately the picture my father had taken at that time to give to her didn't survive the years. I asked her once if she tore it up in a fit of anger, but she said no, she just lost it.
