In 11th grade, I participated in the 2002 Science Olympiad. Our team competed in the Invitational Science Olympiad, held this year at the University of Delaware. Some of the top schools in the nation competed at the Invitational. I participated in four events: Physics Lab, Reach for the Stars, and Dynamic Planet with Howard Wang, and Fermi Questions with Ken Bell. I won gold medals in Physics Lab and Fermi Questions and fourth place medals in Reach for the Stars and Dynamic Planet. Our team also sent two teams to the state science olympiad. At the state competition, I participated in Reach for the Stars and Dynamic Planet with Howard Wang, Physics Lab with Damini Ogunnaike Fermi Questions with Sheel Ganatra, and Water Strider with Jason Chu. I placed first in Fermi Questions, second in Reach for the Stars, third in Dynamic Planet, fifth in Physics Lab, and ninth in Water Strider. our team placed third, and the other team from my school placed first and was invited to the national science olympiad, held this year at the University of Delaware. At the nationals I competed in Fermi Questions as an alternate with Ken Bell. We won gold in the event. Click for the University of Delaware Science Olympiad webpage.
