In 10th grade, I submitted my project, "Conquering the Heart Using Nonlinear Dynamics" to the Davidson Institute for Talent Development for their Davidson Fellows Award. Every year, they award $50,000, $25,000 (starting in 2003), and $10,000 scholarships to a few students who have completed a significant piece of work in mathematics, science, technology, music, literature, or philosophy that has the potential to benefit society. I was named a Davidson Fellow Laureate and won $50,000 scholarship. In November 2001, my family and I attended a ceremony in Washington DC honoring the 6 Davidson Fellows and 3 Davidson Fellow Laureates. Senator Tom Carper wrote a press release about me winning the scholarship, and the News Journal, Delaware's local newspaper, published an article about me. I also received a commendation letter form Representative Mike Castle and Governor Ruth Ann Minner. I have also received a Television appearance in WHYY Delaware Tonight program and was a guest in WILM Radio program "Community Focus". In addition, I was featured in a chapter of the book Genius Denied, authored by Bob and Jan Davidson, who are also the founders of the Davidson Institure for Talent Development. The book has a lot of information about gifted programs in the US and in particular addresses the lack of sufficiently challenging progams for gifted students.
