In 11th grade, I participated in the 2002 AMC-12 (American Mathematics Competition). It consisted of a 75 minute exam with 25 challenging math problems. Out of a possible 150 points, I scored a 118.5 and qualified for the AIME (American Invitational Mathematics Examination by scoring above 100. The AIME is a 3 hour exam with 15 problems which are harder than those on the AMC-12. The next round after the AIME is the USAMO (USA Mathematics Olympiad), but I did not qualify for it. The USAMO is used to choose students to represent the US at the IMO (International Mathematics Olympiad).
