Alliance Audio Projects – The Axiom DC300B Amplifier

Not all DIY constructors are capable of designing their own products. However, some of the best ideas in audio design, come from non-commercial audio designers. We feel these audio constructors could benefit from additional support, design suggestions and properly designed chokes and transformers to optimize their efforts. Peter and I thought this ties in with the objectives of Alliance Audio.

So, we started the Alliance Audio Project Program in 1999. We work with people building interesting designs that can offer “benchmark” performance. Our only requirement is that the design and the parts developed in this effort are made available to other audio constructors.

The Axiom Direct Coupled 300B Monoblock Amplifier is the first project. We plan to offer complete parts sets, transformer sets and chassis for this amp as a kit. We will also offer limited production assembled amplifiers. The amp is the result of a three year design and evaluation effort by Dr. Bob Hoekstra. The same Dr. Hoekstra that develops the “Hoekstra Engines” used in NASCAR and other racing programs.

The Axiom development program also generated high performance capacitors and tube sockets. These components will also be available to audio constructors.

We hope future projects will achieve the same performance level of the Axiom DC300B Amplifier. Thank you, Doctor Bob!
