Open the Mail Window
Click on:
Edit | Mail & Newsgroups Account Settings
Scroll to the bottom of the window and click on "Add Account".

I am using the secnews.netscape.com, for an example.

Note the email address: @somewhere.invalid gives you an anonymous email address.
Although spammers cannot get into these secure NG's, they can copy the email addresses.
An example would be: Ramona@somewhere.invalid
If you don't want anonymity, use your real Email address.

The NG will now be listed in the Account Settings.
It's considered bad form to use HTML when posting in Newsgroups,
so ensure that HTML is disabled.


In the Newsgroup Server Settings, note that the Port Number is 563 (Secure)
Enable: Use secure connection (SSL)


Now, open the Mail & Newsgroups window, and highlight the Newsgroup "secnews.netscape.com".
In the right pane, select "Subscribe to Newsgroups"
