Nathaniel Jerome Webb

Nathaniel Jerome Webb was born October 6, 1852 in Oswego County, state of New York. His parents are James J. Webb Jr. and Elizabeth Swartout. He was the third child in this order: Baby Webb, Napolean Bonaparte, Nathaniel Jerome, Charles Oscar, Martha Maria, James Douglas, Stephen, George B. McClelan, and Dennis B.

On February 6, 1877 in Milan, Sullivan County, Missouri he was married to Margaret Barkley, daughter of John Barkley and Mary Barkley. This may sound a little confusing but Margaret's parents were cousins and Margaret's brother William Hubbell Barkley married married Nathaniel's sister Martha Marie Webb. It was a case of brother and sister being married to a brother and sister. Their children would be cousins from both sides of the family.

Nathaniel and Margaret were the parents of eight children: Mary Elizabeth, Estelle W., John Samuel, Charles McClellan, Florence Marie, Ida Elenore, James Jerome, and Howard Alexander.

Nathaniel died May 30, 1936 in Harris, Sullivan County, Missouri. He was laid to rest in Harris.
