Hill Valley, California

JENNIFER was in the library reading up on the Beatles and came across an interesting picture. It was the controversial "Butcher Album" cover of their album Yesterday and Today. It was the album cover that was replaced after the uproar it caused. It told about how the Beatles reacted to their British albums being removed and reassembled onto separate albums in the U.S. It also gave the date. June 20, 1966. Figuring that this would cheer up Marty, Jennifer got out a blank piece of paper and a pen. Now, Marty had his tonsils removed earlier in the week and was now recuperating. It started the previous week when they were forced to miss the Valentines Day Dance. It was a pity. Marty and Jennifer were planning that for months. And now she had a chance to cheer him up. she started writing. "Dear Dr. Brown.
I have a special favor for you. I would like you to go back to June 20, 1966 to buy Marty a special album. It's called 'Beatles "Yesterday" and Today'. It's the 'Butcher Album' cover that he always wanted but couldn't get. I will give you the money of course..." She was interrupted by Needles. "Hey Jennifer." he said, "You still missed the big 'M'?" Immediately, Jennifer covered up the letter. Needles noticed it and asked "Hey what is that, a love letter to that chicken?" Jennifer looked up at Needles and said "That is none of your business, Needles." "Aw, com'on, Jennifer." insisted Needles, "Let me read some..." At that, the bell rang. "Bye, Needles." said Jennifer getting up. Absent mindedly, she took the book with her without checking it out. She got to the book detector when it rang. Oops! said Jennifer to herself. So, she made an about face and returned it to the shelf. Then she left. Once outside, she ran into Mr. Strickland. "Well, well, well. Miss Parker." he said, "Are your way to class." "Yes, Mr. Strickland." said Jennifer, "I am." Strickland noticed the letter in her hand and asked "What do we have here?" He grabbed from her and read it. "'Dear Dr. Brown'." he read, "Dr Brown? Have you been hanging around him too.?" "Mr. Strickland, please." insisted Jennifer, "That's personal." "Personal?" exclaimed Strickland, "First your boyfriend McFly, now you? Do I have to inform you again that this so-called Emmett Brown is a nut case and dangerous?" "No sir, you don't." said Jennifer. "Good." said Mr. Strickland, "Now go to class." And they went to their respective places.

After school, Jennifer went home to get ready to go to her afterschool job. As she came in, she saw her parents looking at the cover of an old album. It was the same butcher album that Jennifer wanted buy for Marty. "Mom, Dad." asked Jennifer, "What is that?" (Of course Jennifer already knew what it was.) "Oh." said Jennifer's mother, "It's that album dad bought me years ago." "You mean the Beatles' Yesterday and Today?" asked Jennifer. "Yes." said Mr. Parker. He turned to his wife saying. "She always admired the Beatles." he said, "Do you remember the first time we met?" "Yes." said Mrs. Parker, "It was that day in 1965 when the Beatles made their only Hill Valley appearance. I snuck into the Beatles' hotel room, they caught me, I passed out. Then next thing I remember, there was your father." "Love at first sight." said Mr. Parker. "We went to that Beatles concert that night." said Mrs. Parker, "We kissed for the first time in those seats. That's when we knew that we were meant for each other." She admired the album cover saying "If it wasn't for the Beatles, you would've never been born, Jennifer." Jennifer turned to her father asking him "How early did you have to buy that album?" "I don't remember." said Mr. Parker, "I think very early. Around eightish." "We were standing outside Roy's Records since dawn." said Mrs. Parker, "This was before the Peabody Mall was built, remember that, Jerry?" "Yes I do." said Mr. Parker. "Roy's Records." repeated Jennifer, "That was next door too..." "Lou's Cafe." said Mr. Parker, "Now Lou's Aerobics." "I see." said Jennifer, "I've gotta change." And she went into her bedroom to change. Moments later, she emerged wearing Her Burger King outfit, Mr. Parker handed her the keys to the car, Jennifer kissed both parents and left. As she drove off, Mrs. Parker asked "Dear, do you rembember that mod skirt you bought me way back when we started dating?" "Yes I do." said Mr. Parker. "I took it down to the cleaners today." said Mrs. Parker. "Oh?" said Mr. Parker. "I left it in the car." said Mrs. Parker. Mr. Parker looked at her and said "I don't think Jennifer is going to do something rash with it." They turned to look out and see their daughter drive away.

Before leaving, Jennifer wrote Doc another note to give to him. She stuffed it into an envelope with some money to give him. The note told Doc the date and the record store to go to buy the record. Arriving at the Brown residence, she got out, went up to the house and rang the door. Jules answered. "Jules," asked Jennifer, "is your father home?" "No." he said, "He went with mom to a PTA meeting." "Listen, Jules." said Jennifer reaching into her purse to produce the envelope, "I want him to do me a small favor. I want him to go back in time and buy me a certain album. It's a gift for Marty." She handed Jules the envelope. Jules looked inside. "Oh boy!" he said, "Money." Jennifer yanked the money out of his hands. "I knew I couldn't trust you." she said. Then, she looked at her watch saying "I'm going to be late. I'll have to call him on my break." She turned to go back to her car. As she got in, she noticed a familiar box in the back. She turned to pick it up and open it. It was the her mother's mod outfit from the sixties. The very same one that Jennifer wore when she went back in time to 1966 San Francisco. Realizing the opportunity to go back there in time herself, she picked up the box, got out of the car, and went back up to the house. Ringing the bell, Jules answered it again. "Yes?" he said. "I need to borrow the time machine." requested Jennifer. "Out of the question." said Jules, "That's dad's machine and besides..." His voice tailed off as he noticed the box in her hands. "Uh oh!" he said. "What do you mean, uh oh?" asked Jennifer. "You're back on that kick again." said Jules. "Jules." said Jennifer, "I need it to go back in time and buy Marty a gift. Since I can't trust you with the money, I might as well go back there myself." "Uh uh."
said Jules, "The last time you used the time machine, you almost got poisoned. Remember that?" "I certainly do." said Jennifer, "But I'm only going back to 1966 to pick up a certain album. I doubt that I'll run into Biff there." "Forget it, Jennifer." said Jules, "You're not borrowing that time machine." Jennifer sighed. Then she reached into her purse to produced some money. "How about some extra money to buy comic books?" she asked. Jules paused for a minute, then he said "On one condition." he said. "Name it." said Jennifer. "Take us with you." Jennifer looked at him for a minute. Then, she said "No way." "Alright." said Jules, "Thanks for the money." He started to close the door when Jennifer said "Alright. You two could come with me." At that, she was admitted in.

As Jennifer went into the bathroom to change, Verne met Jules outside. "Hey Jules." said Verne, "What's up?" "Jennifer." said Jules, "She wants to go back in time again." "Again?" exclaimed Verne. "Yep." answered Jules, "And we're going back with her." "We?" exclaimed Verne. "Yep." said Jules, "I told her that I'd agree as long as she takes us with her." "Cool." said Verne. Then, Jennifer came out. She was wearing the same outfit she wore when she first went to 1966. "Ready?" she asked. "Yep." said Jules as he got his coat on. He gave Verne the other coat as Jennifer said "Let's go." The trio went out to the lab. As Jennifer opened up Mr. Fusion, Jules said "Jennifer. Dad had the fusion generator reconfigured three months back." "Oh yeah." said Jennifer, "The incident with the jar of poison. I remember that. What does your father use now." "Manure." said Jules. Why doesn't Dr. Brown just go back to using plutonium? Jennifer asked herself. Jules handed Jennifer a packet. Jennifer opened it. Phew! It stunk. She poured it into Mr. Fusion. Then, after picking up the keys to the DeLorean, extra manure (and the remote control) she and the boys got in. Setting the circuits for June 20, 1966, 8:00 a.m. and the destination location for Hill Valley. Jennifer pushed the button on the dashboard and the ceiling opened. "Jennifer." said Jules, "You know now that this car can turn invisible." "I know." said Jennifer activating the cloaking device. Then, activating the hovering circuits, she lifted the car up through the ceiling and into the open air. Activating the time circuits, she pushed her foot onto the accelator and kicked it up to 88 miles per hour. The car disappeared in a bright flash of light.

Monday, June 20, 1966.
8:00 a.m.
Hill Valley, California

After two sonic booms, the car appeared out of nowhere. Hovering the car over downtown Hill Valley, Jennifer spotted Roy's Records next to Lou's cafe. She also spotted an alley between the record store and the Texaco station. Setting the car down there. She turned off the ignition and picked up the remote. "I don't want to relive that Candlestick incedent again." she explained to the boys. Then, she said "You two stay in the car. I'll be back in a while." She got out and went to the store. There was a crowd waiting to get inside. When the doors open, they went in. She immediately went to the Beatles' section and saw the album. She saw a man standing next to her. She recognized him. It was her father. He was buying the same album she was. He turned to her and said "Yes?" "Excuse me, sir." said Jennifer, "I just noticed you bought the same album that I did." "Yes." said Mr. Parker, "I'm buying it for my fiance out there." Jennifer turned to look out the store window. There stood her mother wearing the same outfit she was. "You've got a lovely girlfriend." she commented. "Thank you." said Mr. Parker, "We've met last year at the Blue Bird Hotel. That's where the Beatles were staying. I was a valet there. She was a half crazed Beatle fan. The day of the concert, she snuck into their hotel room and was caught by the Beatles. She passed out and when she came to, the first thing she saw was me. That's when we fell in love. I took her to the concert that night. We kissed there for the first time. That was when I knew we would spend the rest of ours live with each other." Of course Jennifer heard the story so many times she couldn't count. She also knew that the Beatles found out her name, Prudence, and in a couple of years "Dear Prudence" was composed in honor of her. But since this is 1966, she had to pretend that she heard it for the first time. Mr. Parker noticed Jennifer buying the same album and asked "Are you buying that album for yourself?" "No." said Jennifer, "It's for a sick friend." "Oh." said Mr. Parker. They went to the check out counter to pay the casier. As they left, Mr. Parker said "I'll be seeing you again, won't I?" Jennifer paused for a minute. Then, she said "Yes." Then, they parted ways. Returning to the alley where she parked the DeLorean, she discovered that the car was gone. Where is it? she asked herself. Then, she bumped into something invisible. At that, she remembered that the DeLorean now had a cloaking device. She felt for the door and opened up. She saw the two boys and said "I hope you two behaved yourselves." "We did." they said. "Good." said Jennifer as she picked up a packet and poured it into Mr. Fusion. Then, she got in, closed the door, set the time circuits for February 21, 1985, 4:15 p.m., set the destination location for Hill Valley, California, turned on the ignition, activated the time circuits and hovering device, and took off, accelerating up to 88 miles per hour. The car vanished in a blinding light leaving a pair of fire trails behind.

After the girl left, Jerry went up to his fiance, Prudence. But Prudence had this scornful look on her face. "Who's the girl?" she demanded. "What do you mean?" asked Jerry. "I saw you talking to her." said Prudence, "My God, she even wore the same outfit I'm wearing." "Prudence." said Jerry, "I've never seen her before in my life." "Ha." said Prudence, "The engagement's off." She removed the ring from her finger and threw it into Jerry's face. Then, she turned to get onto the nearest bus and out of Jerry's life forever.
