4:15 p.m.
THE Delorean appeared over the Lone Pine Mall. Pushing the CLOAK button, Doc made a low search of the area. Then, there she was, the Jennifer that was before she went back in time and lost her memory, getting out of the DeLorean and going into a store. Doc landed the car outside the mall and got out. As he did, he noticed a sign reading the name of the mall. But, it didn't say "LONE PINE MALL". It read "PEABODY MALL". Since when was the mall renamed? asked Doc to himself. Not wasting anymore time, Doc went to the other DeLorean, the one that Jennifer was using before it went back into the past. Using the keys, Doc unlocked the door and went in. Activating the time circuits, Doc read what it said.

1986! said Doc to himself, Great Scott! He and Jennifer have been time traveling for the past seven months! Is Marty crazy? Then, the "Present Time" circuits read 4:21 meaning that Jennifer should be coming back any time now. Closing the door, Doc snuck behind a car as Jennifer returned to the car. She had a bag of something in her arms and when she put it down she opened the door, reached in the back, took out a packet of manure and poured it into Mr. Fusion as another car pulled up beside her.. After putting the packet back in the car, she picked up the grocery bag as the driver of the other car got out. The driver of the other car turned out to be Jennifer as well. The old Jennifer from the future. Putting the bag in the back of the DeLorean, Jennifer was ready to close the door when she saw her other self. Startled at the sight of her other self, Jennifer cried out "I'm old." and passed out in the car, banging the back of her head on the time circuits that apparently reset itself and causing the car to roar into life. The door shut itself as the car took of into the sky, speeding up until a brilliant flash of light engulfed it and the only thing that was left, were a pair of fire trails. Seeing enought, Doc went back to the DeLorean he took out of 1885 and set the time circuits for May 31, 1986. After re-loading Mr. Fusion, Doc had the car lift off the ground and accelerated it up to 88 miles per hour until it broke the time barrier.

As the bright light dissappated, Doc looked down. Even here, the sign read "PEABODY MALL" When in the name of Sir Isaac H. Newton was that mall renamed? Doc asked himself. He decided to proceed to Lyon's Estate Dr. to find Marty. He was almost there, when he looked in the general direction of Elmdale Drive. There was a black truck heading for what looked like a farmhouse. There was something peculiar about this farmhouse though. The last time he saw it, it was an old abandoned building. But look at it now. It was brand spanking new. Doc closed in on this driver keeping the time machine invisible at all times. One look at him confirmed that it was Marty. Looking ahead, Doc could see the car Jennifer borrowed from her father. Doc landed the DeLorean in front of this car as Marty pulled up his truck. At this, Doc pushed the "CLOAK" button and got out. Marty looked at the DeLorean and the Doc and exclaimed "What hell?" "Marty." he said angerly, pointing at the DeLorean, "I gave you explicit instructions that when you returned to the future, you would destroy the time machine, not give it to Jennifer." Marty gave Doc a startled stare saying "What are you saying, Doc? And what's Jennifer doing here?" "Don't play dumb, Marty." insisted Doc, "You gave it Jennifer, didn't you." "Jennifer?" exclaimed Marty. "That's right, Marty." said Doc, "Jennifer. She's back in 1885 suffering from amnesia. She got there from the future when she encountered her older self and passed out. And now, she doesn't remember her own time or who she is." "Jennifer." said Marty, "Oh no. Not again." "What do you mean, 'not again'?" demanded Doc, "My God, Marty. You're supposed to convince her that her initial trip to the future was a dream. Not only did you seem to fail at this, but have been sharing the time machine with her." Marty was speechless until he said "Wait a minute. You're the Doc I left behind in 1885. Not the Doc that came back to the future with his family." "What do you mean 'the Doc that came back to the future with his family'?" demanded Doc. "Marty!" asked a voice, "What is going out here." Doc turned to the source of the voice saying "Stay out of this. This is between me and the foolish boy." Doc turned back and was about to continue to scold Marty for what he did when he paused and turned back. The source of the voice turned out to be another Doc Brown. And with him, was Clara. Both Doc's were speachless until both of them exclaimed in unison "Great Scott!" and passed out.

Marty held one Doc, Clara held the other as Marty asked "What the hell is Jennifer doing back in 1885?" "I don't know, Marty." said Clara, "Emmett had her sent to..." Then, she stopped. "Sent to where?" asked Marty, "And why?" Clara didn't say another word on the subject. She said "Just get them in the house." Marty gave Clara a hard stare. Why was Doc entrusting the time travel chores to Jennifer after her last trip resulted in her winding up in another reality where she didn't exist? Not wanting to dwell on the subject any further, Clara and Marty carried the two Docs back into the house. Afterwards, Marty took the keys from the Doc that came back from 1885, got into the DeLorean, activated the cloaking device, and hovered it into the lab.

The next thing Doc recalled, he was lying on a strange couch in a dark room with a blanket over him. Then, he saw a familiar figure. It was Clara. "Clara." he said, "Is that you?" "There, there, Emmett." said Clara, "Just relax. You've been asleep for two hours now." "I've just had the worse nightmare, Clara." said Doc, "Do you remember about me telling you about Marty having a girlfriend?" "Yes I do, Emmett." said Clara. "Well, I dreamt that it was our wedding day." said Doc, "And Marty's girlfriend crashed it and lost her memory in the process. And that I had to go back to the future to scold Marty and there was another me there. It was terrible." "Well, you're safe and sound now, Emmett." said Clara, "Right back in your future home in 1986." "My future home in 1986?" exclaimed Doc as his eyes popped wide open. At that, the lights went on and there stood Clara, wearing clothes that the women of the 1980's were wearing, not her 19th century clothes. "Great Scott!" exclaimed Doc, "Clara, it can't be you!" "Oh it's me, Emmett." said Clara. "But, why are you wearing 1980's women's clothing?" asked Doc. "Because she had to fit in with my era." said another voice. In came the other Doc. Doc hopped off the couch and yelled out "No! It can't be. I've given up time travel." Marty came into the room and said "I know you did, Doc. But you had to come back to the future." "No!" exclaimed Doc, "This is insane! It can't be happening." Turning to the other Doc, he said "You shouldn't be here. I mean, I shouldn't be here. I've given up time travel. I shouldn't be doing this again ever. The consequences could be disasterous. It doesn't make sense." "But you did, Doc." said Marty, "And it does make sense." Taking Doc by the shoulders, he said "Listen Doc, I did destroy the time machine. But, you built another one out of a train so you could go back and get Einstein and you didn't want me to worry about you." "A train?" exclaimed Doc, "But how come Jennifer used a DeLorean as a time machine?" "Because when went back to the future to get Einstein," said Marty, "You bought another DeLorean, took it back to the 19th century with you and turned that into a time machine. As for Jennifer using the time machine..." Turning to the other Doc, he asked "Hey Doc, why did loan her the time machine? Especially after she fouled up her own existance three months ago." The other Doc didn't want to say that. Instead he said "Marty, please go into the other room." Marty shrugged. Then, he said "You're the doc, Doc." After that, he left. Then Doc turned to his other self and asked "Alright. What is this all about?" "Can you keep this quiet?" asked the other Doc. "Okay." said Doc, "But why did you-I mean-I let Jennifer borrow the time machine to go back to the future?" "Because next week is Marty's birthday." said the other Doc, "I sent Jennifer on an errand to the future because I noticed a little gag gift during a recent trip there. I wanted to buy it for him. But I was busy so Jennifer volunteered." Doc studied his future self before saying "Recent trip?" "It's a long story." said Doc, "Eventually you'll find out." "Emmett." said Clara, "A word with you?" The other Doc excused himself as Clara took him aside.

Taking her husband aside, Clara asked "Emmett, what do you mean 'Eventually he'll find out'?" "Clara." said Doc, "I can't just risk telling my other self about getting stuck in 44 B.C. The consequences could be disasterous." "But your 1956 self discovered the DeLorean in the catacomb near Rome." said Clara. "I know that, Clara." said Doc, "But that me over there is from a reality in which the time machine is yet to be discovered in that catacomb. Truly, that me over there has not uncovered the time machine in 1956." "I understand." said Clara. "Good." said Doc. At that they returned to the Doc from 1885.

After some discussion, the Doc from 1885 had agreed to return to his own time taking Marty with him in hopes that Jennifer would regain her memory by having him around. Taking the Clint Eastwood outfit that he wore in 1885, Marty went into the bathroom to change. Meanwhile, Doc learned that he and Clara were to have two boys while in the 19th century. That he, Clara and those two would return to the 20th century to continue their lives here. He sat with his future boys looking through what was to be the family album. What was supposed to be a reminiscence to others was a look ahead for Doc. Something to shoot for. Then, Marty came in saying "I'm ready." He was wearing his Clint Eastwood outfit again. "No remember, Marty," said Doc, "'Clint Eastwood' went into the ravine after 'he' rescued Clara from those two robbers." "Hey Doc." said Marty, "We were the two robbers." "I know, Marty." said Doc, "But the townspeople don't know that." "Right, Doc." said Marty. Then, the other Doc said "Good luck, Marty." "And godspeed." said Clara. She gave Marty a kiss. Then, the other Doc and Marty embraced. The other Doc said "I'll see you again in the future." Marty paused for a minute before saying "You mean the past." "Exactly!" said the other Doc. After the two Docs shook hands and Doc got a kiss from Clara, Marty turned to him and said "Okay, Doc. Let's get this show on the road." "Right." said Doc. They went out to the lab and got into the DeLorean after loading the fusion generator. Setting the time circuits for December 15, 1885 10:15 p.m. Doc looked around for a way out. Opening the window, Doc asked his other self "How do I get the DeLorean out of here?" The other Doc went to a consel and pushed a button. The roof opened and the other Doc said "Now you-I mean-I will take it from here." "Exactly." said Doc. The car lifted off the ground into the open roof into the dusky sky. Then, he put his feet to the accelerator and kicked it up to 88 miles per hour and back into the past.
