Chapter 7
AFTER stowing the 1955 Doc into the Packard, Marty and Jennifer got in and drove off. Giving Jennifer the walkie-talkie, she spoke into it. "Doctor Brown." she said, "Come in, Doctor Brown." "Doc here." said his voice, "Where's Marty?" "He's with me." said Jennifer, "He's busy driving your old car." "What?" exclaimed Doc's voice. "Doctor Brown." explained Jennifer, "After we jumped Biff and his gang, we watched the other Marty go back in time and my Marty decided to confront your other self. He, I mean, you went into shock and passed out." "Great Scott!" said Doc's voice, "Well never mind that now! Is my other self with you now?" "Yes he is." said Jennifer, "I mean, you are. But he's, I mean, you are unconscience." "It might be hours before my other self wakes up." said Doc's voice, "Do you have the Almanac with you?" "Yes we do, Doctor Brown." said Jennifer, "Marty took it from Biff when he knocked him out." "Good." said Doc's voice, "Take my other self to my old place on 1640 Riverside Dr. Marty knows the way. Once you two are in the house and got my other self on the couch, throw the book into the fire place and burn it. I'll meet you there when you're through." "Right Doctor Brown." said Jennifer, "Jennifer out." After she was through, she handed the walkie-talkie back to Marty who said "That's John F. Kennedy Dr. where we come from." The Packard continued on to Brown's mansion.

Biff and his gang recovered to see their quarry gone. Then, Biff felt that there was something missing. Frisking his back pocket, he said to himself What the hell? The Almanac was gone. "What the hell happened?" he demanded. "We were jumped." said one of his gang members. "I know that." said Biff, "But where did they go?" "I don't know that, Biff." said another gang member, "I was knocked out like all of you." "They could be miles from here now." said another gang member. "Let's go find them." said Biff and he and his gang left the drive-in for the car. As they got in, they noticed a kind of a trailer but it was more of a board for towing a car. And it was being towed by a Packard. It was barely out of their sights when they first saw it. "It must be them." speculated Biff, "Let's go after them." At that, Biff turned the car and started following it.

After arriving at the house, Marty and Jennifer got the 1955 Doc out of the Packard and inside. Before going in herself, Jennifer looked around. Indeed, this was to be John F. Kennedy Drive. Beyond the garage was the site on which that Burger King that she work for would someday stand. After entering the house, the two put Doc on the couch. Then, Marty threw the Almanac into the fireplace, picked up the box of matches and set the book afire. The book burned brightly. Meanwhile, Jennifer examined her uniform. "Look at it." she said, "The boss is going to kill me." "We had no choice, Jennifer." said Marty, "We couldn't let Biff and his gang jump my other self or Doc's." "You're probably right." said Jennifer. Meanwhile, the fire burned brightly cosuming the book. By now, the alternate 1986 had switched back to their own 1986.

Meanwhile, Biff and his gang finally caught up with them. Seeing that their quarry were already in the house, Biff and his gang go out of the car and went to the front door and rang the bell.

The door bell rang. Jennifer and Marty looked at each other as Jennifer asked "Who could that be?" "Could be the Doc." said Marty, "You'd better answer it." Jennifer did. But she was greeted by Biff and his gang who took her hostage. "Jennifer!" exclaimed Marty. "And you too." said Biff. Then, he turned his attention to the fireplace and saw that the Almanac was being burned. "What the hell?" he exclaimed. "Biff." asked one of his gangmembers, "What is it?" Biff didn't answer. He turned to Marty saying "That was mine!" At that, he punched Marty in the stomache. Marty staggered and fell to the ground. Then, Biff kicked him saying "That's for that book." Then again. "And this is for my car." he said, "Come on guys. We've got the girl. Let's get the hell outta here." At that, they dragged Jennifer off. Minutes passed before Marty regained his wind. Then, the Doc's voice was heard on the walkie-talkie. "Marty." he said, "I'm here. Did you burn the book." "Yes I did." said Marty, "But we got more trouble. Biff and his gang's got Jennifer." "Great Scott!" exclaimed Doc's voice, "Did you see where they went with her?" "No I didn't." said Marty, "I had the wind knocked out of me." "My other self." said Doc's voice, "Did they take my other self?" Marty turned to the couch. Doc's other self was still there resting. "No they didn't." said Marty, "You're still here." "Okay, Marty." said Doc, "After the fire's out, come outside and get in. We'll go down Jennifer." Moments passed before the fire finally died out. Then, after gathering Jennifer's belongings and the walkie-talkie, Marty took one last look at the 1955 Doc and left the house.

Marty was barely outside when the door of the DeLorean appeared out of nowhere. Inside was the Doc who said "Get in, Marty." And Marty did. Then, the car lifted off and the search for Jennifer was on. After spotting a car resembling Biff's, Marty used the binoculars and spotted him and his gang in it with Jennifer. "There they are Doc." said Marty, "Let's land in front of it, materialize and form a road block." "Marty." said Doc, "That's a 1947 Ford. This is a DeLorean. Biff will crash through us like tinfoil." "Then what do we do?" asked Marty. Doc reached down the floor and produced a rope. "Once we're overhead," said Doc, "I want you to hang this rope over Jennifer's head." "Okay Doc." said Marty. Within minutes, they were overhead of Biff and his gang and their captive. Up ahead was a manure truck.

Jennifer was frightened about what they might do to her once they found some place to do the deed. Then, she felt something tap her. Looking up, it was a string of rope hanging out of nowhere. Doctor Brown and Marty said Jennifer to herself, It's Doctor Brown and Marty. Immediately, she grabbed it and was lifted out of the car. Looking down, she said to the startled men "Good bye boys. See you in the future." Biff and his gang were speachless not realizing that they were head straight towards that manure truck. Then, the word "Shit!" was heard and the car was seen crashing into the truck that dumped it's content all over the driver and passengers. Then, Jennifer was lowered to the ground and the door opened. Jennifer was overjoyed when she saw Marty and Doc inside. Pulling her in, Marty comforted her as she started to cry. Doc lifted the car off again and flew off.

Biff and his gang finally emerged from the manure as Biff said "Manure! I hate manure." Looking around, they saw that their captive had disappeared.

Jennifer was still crying when Doc was setting the time circuits. Mr. Fusion was already loaded for their return. But when Marty looked over Jennifer, he saw that Doc was setting the time circuits for September 5, 1978. "We're going back there again?" asked Marty. "Yep." said Doc, "Now that the Almanac's been burned, not only 1986 has been restored but 1978 as well. It's now possible for us to stop Biff from stealing the time machine." "You're the doc, Doc." said Marty. "Now brace yourselves for temporal distortion." said Doc as he kicked the car up to 88 miles per hour and into 1978.
Tuesday, September 5, 1978
Hill Valley, California
3:10 p.m.
The DeLorean made it's appearance again in 1978. Knowing that the other DeLorean was in the alleyway, Doc landed the time machine in the parking lot of the courthouse. Then, getting out, Doc produced his sleep inducer saying to Marty "Stay here with Jennifer, Marty. She needs your support more than me." "Doc." asked Marty, "What about you?" "Don't about me." said Doc, "I can take care of myself and Biff." At that, he closed the door and ran off to stop Biff. As he did, Jennifer finally pulled herself together. "That was a stupid thing to do." she said. "What is Jen?" asked Marty. "Trying to get your mind off of what Jim Jandick was doing to his wife by coming back here and witnessing our first meeting." "It's my fault too, Jen." said Marty, "Telling you to go answer the door when all we had to do was use the walkie-talkie to see if that was the Doc." The two looked at Jennifer's uniform. It too was a victim of a chain reaction of events that started innocently enough with that suggestion of it's wearer.
++++++
Doc followed Biff into the alleyway. Already his other self and Jennifer's were already out of there going down the street to intervene in what Marty was doing. Taking the sleep inducer, he used it on Biff who slumped to the ground. Dragging him out of the alleyway, he put him on a bus stop bench. Then, he hid behind it as he saw his other self and Jennifer's drag Marty's other self back to the alleyway. After that, he snuck a peak into the alleyway and witnessed himself and his companions get into the car and take off. After the other DeLorean was gone, Doc turned back to his own DeLorean.

Marty and Jennifer were still looking at the uniform when it was being transformed into a uniform that was suddenly in perfect condition. Then, Doc arrived and got back in. "Doctor Brown." said Jennifer, "My uniform. It was ruined, but look at it now." "I know." said Doc, "That's because none of us went back to 1955 on the day that I sent Marty back to the Old West." "What?" exclaimed Marty. "That's right, Marty." said Doc, "I had Biff sleep induced. He never stole the time machine. Because of that, the chain reaction of events that started with Jennifer's suggestion of taking you back to your first meeting with her didn't continue beyond what Biff almost did. And when he wakes up, he'll think that what he saw was a dream." "That's good, Doc." said Marty, "Now let's go home." Doc was ready to set the time circuits when he looked out the window. "Doc." asked Marty, "What is it?" "Look." said Doc. Marty and Jennifer did. It was young Marty and young Jennifer meeting the Doctor Brown of 1978. "Our first meeting, Marty." pointed out Doc. "Oh yes." said Jennifer, "I remember that." "Doc," said Marty, "I thought that our first meeting was when you came to my house in 1983 and..." "That was until you went back to 1955." said Doc, "Remember your desertation about your parents before you went back in time and interfered with their first meetings and you had to patch things up?" "Oh yeah." said Marty. He remembered his encounter with Jandick on this day before his trip back into time and what changed after he relived it. After that, Doc set the time circuits for October 25, 1986 8:00 p.m., lifted the car off the ground, and flew off accellerating up to 88 miles per hour and back in their own time.
