IMMEDIATELY, Tannenhausen ordered his men to apprehend Jacqueline.
John stepped in and said “Get your grubby hands off her you blooming idiots.”
“Grab her.” ordered the baron.
His men did as John started to put up his dukes and have it out with the four. Unfortunately, the baron’s henchmen ignored him. The baron didn’t however. He simply pushed him down. After that, the quarry left with their captive giving out a muffled scream. Once they were gone, the rest of the Beatles and Fred rushed to John’s aid.
John looked up and said “What happened? I’m seeing stars.”
“I can’t be.” said Ringo, “It’s still broad daylight.”
“Well the sun is one big star.” said George.
“I’m talking about Ringo, here.” said John.
“What happened, John?” asked Paul, “You’re not the tough you used to be.”
“Now that’s something.” said John, “I used to get into fights when I was in school, and I was good at it too.”
“When you get old John, your reflexes start to slow down.” said Ringo.
“Of course fights weren’t the only thing I got in trouble over.” said John, “There was this one time that I threw the chalkboard out the window. The teacher didn’t understand Putting chalk on board is murder on the teeth.”
Ringo felt his saying “Yeck! You shouldn’t have said that John.”
“Why not, Ring?”
“Because you’re irritating me teeth now.”
“Well excu-u-u-use me!”
“Hey, we’ve got to tell that poor girl’s folks about her being kidnapped.” said Paul.
“Now wait a minute.” said Fred, “I don’t think they want your company after the trouble you caused today.”
“Hey mister.” said Paul, “As of yesterday, all our troubles seem so far away.”
“Come on.” said John, “Let’s go up there and tell somebody. And I don’t mean anybody. We just need someone.”
At that, the five went back up to the house.

Back in the car, Clara looked up as Jacqueline was being dragged away by the baron and his men. Clara felt helpless over the fact that it might be possible that she was being kidnapped anyway. Then, she saw the Beatles with the man who said that he was fired go back up to the house. Clara looked at the inducer that was still being charged up and saw that it wasn’t already charged up yet.
I’ve got to do something. she said to herself, But I can’t leave Calpurnia here in the car. So she asked her “Calpurnia, can I borrow your sleep inducer?”
“Why?” asked Calpurnia.
“Because mine hasn’t been fully charged up yet.” said Clara, “And I need one to stop the Beatles before they cause any more damage to the timeline.”
“Can I point out something.” said Calpurnia.
“Sure.” said Clara
“If you sleep induce those four, you’ll have to carry them back to the car and there are four of them out there.” said Calpurnia. Clara listened intently to her fellow time traveler who went onto say “Now you might need help getting them into the time machine or it’s going to be a slow process. Now if I am pregnant, it will pretty hard on my condition if I help you carry on such a feat.”
“So what do you propose?” asked Clara.
“That we let them talk to the mother about the kidnapping in hopes that they’ll be forced to leave.” suggested Calpurnia, “Then we’ll quietly drive up to the front and watch them come back to the street. Right there, you could get out, sleep induce them and quietly put them into the time machine.”
“And if they don’t want to leave?” asked Clara.
“Then we find the nearest lawmen and inform them on what is happening.” said Calpurnia, “They get hauled off to jail and we bail them out. I know it’s not much of a plan but I can’t think of anything else other than risk a miscarriage.”
“Calpurnia.” asked Clara, “Are you sure you’re pregnant?”
“You said it yourself.” said Calpurnia, “I told you the symptoms I’m suffering now and you pointed out that you had the same thing when you had those two boys.”
“It could be something you ate.” said Clara, “Like that strudel.”
“I never had it before.” said Calpurnia, “But it could be that I am pregnant. Clara, I know what I saw or who I saw in that house. That poor girl’s mother who looks just like me.”
“Well, when we get back to the future,” said Clara, “we’ll have you see a doctor to be sure.”
“And if I’m right…”
“Then, Emmett better hurry up and fix the DeLorean and cook up a good story about your disappearance before you start to show.”
“Clara, what’s wrong with the time machine we’re using now?”
“The time circuits haven’t been configured for AD-BC yet.”
“AD…oh yes. Anno Domini and B.C. ‘Before Christ’. I’ve gotta learn that. Clara, if I’m pregnant shouldn’t we just jump ahead in time to a point where the DeLorean is finally fixed?”
“Too risky for your condition, Calpurnia. Assuming that you are pregnant.”
Meanwhile, the two time travelers saw Helga come out of the house and run up the street. With the Beatles and Fred following.
“Time to go.” said Clara.
She turned the ignition and pulled up to the five.
“Wait a minute, Clara.” said Calpurnia, “Fred’s coming along with them. Shouldn’t we wait until they lose him?”
“You’re right.” said Clara.
Then, Calpurnia said “Clara. I just thought of something.”
“What’s that?” she asked.
“What if the Beatles caused Jacqueline to be kidnapped?” asked Calpurnia.
Clara sat back in horror. “Oh dear.” she said “I never thought of that.”
“Maybe we should go back to this morning and keep the Beatles from going into town.” suggested Calpurnia
“What good will that do?” asked Clara, “Remember. We were assuming that they were already in Vienna and were heading straight there.”
“Not on a roadside.” said Calpurnia, “While they’re getting out. Just sleep induce them and put them back into the car until the us that first arrived here wake up.”
“I’ve got an idea.” said Clara, “Let’s wait to see what happens first.”
“Got it.” said Calpurnia.
The time travelers sat there for a while until they saw the Beatles and Fred return to the house. But Helga wasn’t with them.
“Something’s wrong.” said Clara, “Calpurnia, stay here. I’m going up to see what happened.”
Getting out, she crept up slowly to the house. Just then, Beethoven emerged from the house and went up the street in the same direction that his sister and niece were taken too. The Beatles and Fred were following only to be stopped by Clara.
“You again.” said John.
“Aright boys.” she said, “The fun is over. You four are coming with me.”
“Where?” asked George.
“Back to the future.” said Clara.
“No thanks.” said John, “Already been there. Besides we’ve gotta help a little old lady from Pasadena across the street just to impress Jan and Dean. I call it a Granny a go-go.”
“Listen lady.” said Paul, “We appreciate the offer but we’ve got some fish to fry. A girl and her mother has been kidnapped…”
“I hate to say this but this is none of your concern.” said Clara, “Now if you come with me…”
“Listen lady,” said George, “If you think the future still looks so good, why don’t you go back there and rectify all the things that you should?”
“He’s right, you know.” said John, “You’ve got time to all that, don’t you?”
“Will you four just listen to me?” demanded Clara.
“No, you listen to us.” said John, “Do what you want to do…”
“And go where you’re going too.” said Paul.
“Think for yourself, ‘cause we ain’t gonna be there with you.” said Ringo.
Meanwhile, Calpurnia got out of the limousine and approached the six.
Clara noticed this and said “Calpurnia. I thought I told you to stay in the car.”
“Clara.” said Calpurnia, “I might be two thousand years out of step with the time but…”
“Look!” said Ringo, “It’s her. Or it’s one of her.”
“Which one of you is you?” asked John, “Helga or California?”
“Calpurnia!” said Calpurnia.
“Oh that’s too bad.” said John, “I expected Helga. It’s a more sexy name. Don’t worry Callie, you’ll get yours yet.”
“Calpurnia.” repeated Calpurnia but it was as if she was talking to the wall.
“Calpurnia.” said Clara, “Calm down. Remember your condition.”
“Right.” whispered Calpurnia, “I shouldn’t get upset.”
Handing her the inducer, Clara said to Calpurnia “Go sleep induce the Beatles and Fred. I’ll go back and get the limousine.”
“I got you.” said Calpurnia.
Clara was about to turn back when she saw something: The limousine was starting to appear.
“Calpurnia.” she said, “We’ve got a problem.”
“What is it?” asked Calpurnia.
“Look.”
Calpurnia did. She saw what Clara saw.
“The cloaking device.” Clara went onto say, “It’s wearing down. It’ll need recharging.”
“What does that mean?” asked Calpurnia.
“It means that we can’t go back to this morning to stop the Beatles from going into town without the cloaking device.” said Clara, “And without the cloaking device we will be seen by our other selves. The us that just got here.”
“If that’s so,” asked Calpurnia, “How long will it take to recharge the device.”
“About eight hours.” said Clara.
“Eight hours?” repeated Calpurnia, “And what are we going to do in the interim?”
“Play along.” said Clara, “Help the Beatles and Fred find Beethoven, his sister and his niece.” She returned to the car and opened the trunk. “But first we’re going to recharge the cloaking device.” she said getting a hold of a device and hooking it up to the cloaking mechanism.
Meanwhile the Beatles approached the two time travelers asking each other “What are they doing?”
“I don’t know.” said John, “But it looks like a relativity device.”
“It is a relativity device.” said Ringo.
“Bad machine.” said George.
Calpurnia noticed the four approaching and whispered “Clara!”
Clara looked up and asked “Excuse me. But what do you guys want?”
“We’re just curious about what you’re doing.” said John, “I wonder if we could help?”
“I could handle it.” said Clara. Turning to Calpurnia, she said “Calpurnia, I’ll go track down Beethoven and his family. I want you to keep the Beatles and Fred occupied.”
“Got you.” said Calpurnia. Then, she noticed something posted somewhere. “Clara look at this.” she said
Clara did. It read:
THE CHORAL SYMPHONY
AS
COMPOSED AND CONDUCTED
BY
LUDWIG VON BEETHOVEN
Friday May 7, 1824 8:00 p.m.
At the Konzerthaus
“I know, Calpurnia.” said Clara, “That’s why it’s important that I have to go track down Beethoven. I have to be sure that he makes it there tonight without a hitch.”
At once, she left Calpurnia in charge of the Beatles and Fred while she went off to do what she had to do.
