THE three stood at the door looking at the group of men. "Can I help you?" asked Mr. Brown. One man flashed a badge. "FBI" he said, "You've got something we want." "And that is..." said Mr. Brown. "Ask your new young friend." said the FBI man. Marty, knowing that it was him, looked to where he parked the DeLorean only to see it surrounded by more men in suits and hats. "Hey." he said, "Get the hell away from there." He start towards them only to be apprehended by more FBI men. "Let me go you bastards." he cried. "Don't let him go." said the first FBI man. Then he turned to Mr. Brown and his son saying "You're all coming with us." The men apprehended both father and son and all three were put into cars. As the cars pulled out, a tow truck pulled in and minutes later, the DeLorean was taken in tow.

The next thing the three knew that they were taken into the Hughes factory. The three's possessions were confiscated. Then, they were escorted to Mr. Hughes' office. Among the possessions, were the jars of poison that Emmett stole. In the office, Howard Hughes was there. Marty turned to Mr. Brown whispering "They can't do this." "They did, Marty." said Mr. Brown. "But those jars of poison were never recovered." said Marty, "Your son had it in his possession for the next 47 years. That's how it happened when I left." Marty turned to Emmett, then he turned to Mr. Brown saying "He's got to keep those or the consequences of the FBI's actions would be disasterous." "I know." said Mr. Brown, "But, there's nothing I could do." Meanwhile, the FBI men were showing Mr. Hughes their possessions. "This is what they had on them." said the first FBI man. Hughes examined them and noticed Marty's driver's licence. "Expires on birthday 1987." he said, "DOB 6-7-68." He turned to Marty and said "So you're the boy from the future." "That's right." said Marty. Hughes then picked up a snapshot. It was of him and Jennifer. "Your girlfriend?" asked Mr. Hughes. "Yes." said Marty. "She's pretty." said Mr. Hughes. "Thanks." said Marty. "Listen, you're not suppose to recover those jars of poison. You never did." "We're not concerned about that." said Mr. Hughes. "We?" asked Marty. "That's right." said Mr. Hughes, "The Government. And right now, our concern is about that 'time machine' that you came in. Is there another one that we should be aware of?" "Why do you ask?" asked Marty. "Because it's important." said Hughes. "Do you know what we're up against?" "No." said Marty. Hughes turned to another man in the room and said "Go ahead. Roll it." The man he was talking to turned on a projector, another man turned off the lights. It was shown on a screen behind a wall that moved to a side. The film showed Hitler talking to German scientist and soldiers. "Intelegence reports states that Hitler was obsessed with the idea of time travel." said Hughes, "The plan was to send SS back into time and exterminate the Jewish race as well as any non-Aryan race so it could look like they never existed." The film showed men getting into a strange machine. "Earlier experiments failed." Hughes went onto say, "Volunteers were either killed or went insane." The film showed machines exploding. "If you, young man, have successfully travelled back an forth in time without being killed or going insane", said Mr. Hughes, "then it's imperitive that you tell me if there's another time machine like the one you came in so we could impound it." "You can't." said Marty, "It's gotta stay there..." Marty realized that the slip of the tongue had betrayed. "Stay where?" said Hughes. Marty hesitated. Then Hughes said "Please understand. If there is another time machine out there and you don't tell us where, someone will find it and it'll find it's way into the wrong hands." "They can't." said Marty, "It's hidden in a place where the only way that you could get to it, you'll have to blast." "That sounds like something Billsif Tannen would do." said Mr. Hughes. "Billsif." said Marty. "That's right, Mr. Jones." said Hughes, "Or should I say, Mr McFly. Before he came to work for me, Mr. Tannen was into munitions." Marty yanked out the paper he had hidden in his clothes from the Feds. It was the same paper that had the Billsif story on it. Marty read the headlines. It read "November 3, 1938" "Holy geez." said Marty, "That's tomorrow's newspaper. That mean's Billsif will be arrested today.." Mr. Hughes noticed the newspaper that Marty had and asked for it. Marty complied. Hughes studied it. It was tomorrow's newspaper but the paper itself seemed old. Then he turned to Marty saying "I think it's about time I showed you what's going to happen if your time machine and the machine you're hiding from us falls into the wrong hands." The film rolled again. Hughes told Marty "This film came out of Germany at the cost of a man's life." The film started off as a cartoon of German soldiers suddenly disappearing into nothingness and being replaced by an hourglass but with the sand going up. As the hourglass disappeared the scene showed ancient times and the early days of civilization suddendly being disrupted by the appearence of German troups who suddenly start shooting around. The next thing Marty saw were people of different colors and creeds suddenly disappearing only to be replaced by people of one race and color. A vicious looking race. The film concluded with the full view of the earth fading into a swastika that was on a flag that started waving. As the film finished the lights went back on. "Do you see what we're up against, young man?" asked Hughes. "Yes I do." said Marty. "Then why don't you tell us if there is another time machine hear in 1938 and where it is?" asked Hughes. "Because I can't." said Marty. "Did you tell my employee Mr. Brown and his son about it?" asked Mr. Hughes. "Why do you asked?" asked Marty. "Because you talked to Mr. Brown the other day thinking that he was his son." said Mr. Hughes, "Chances are one of those two invented that time machine." "So?" said Marty. "An hour ago", said Hughes, "we received word from an informant in Germany that the Brown mansion was bugged with listening devices and that someone said something about a time machine being buried inside the Delgado mine at the abandoned Boot Hill Cementary." "Oh Jesus!" said Marty, "Those bastards must've heard...now wait a minute." Marty started to laugh. "What's so funny young man?" asked Hughes. "The time circuits in the other time machine." said Marty. "What about them?" asked Hughes. "They were shorted out when the car was struck by lightening in 1955." said Marty, "So if the Nazis do get ahold of that other car, what good would it do them? Suitible replacement circuits won't exist until 1947. By then the war would be over and they'll lose." "So there will be a war in which they'll lose." said Mr. Hughes. "That's right." said Marty. "Mr. McFly." said Hughes, "In my era, German technology is frighteningly far more advanced than ours. If there's a will, there's a way. They get ahold of that other time machine, they will succeed in repairing it." "But how could that be?" asked Marty, "We beat them in a war that put America technologically ah..." Then, Marty recalled his history lessons on how the German scientists, like Werhner Von Braun, after surrendering at the end of the war, started working for the Americans as if they were trying to "right terrible wrongs" and said "Oh shit!" "Watch your language, pal." said the first FBI man. Marty ignored him. "Billsif." he said, "He is selling out to the Nazis. But why?" "Because", said Hughes, "it's possible that he's selling out to rival company of mine without knowing that that company is being backed by the Germans." "What?" asked Marty. "I haven't been giving him a raise in over four years because he hasn't deserved it." said Hughes, "So some rival corporation is giving him a better offer if he gives them something they want. Something vital. The trick is to not let that person know who's backing the corporation." "But what company would be backed by Germany?" asked Marty. "I don't know." said Mr. Hughes, "A company that knows that Tannen is so mad at us, a company with German intellegence relaying information to that company, that it manipulates him into selling out to that said company without knowing that it's German runned." "German runned." said Marty. He grabbed the newspaper, looked at it and said "That's it. No wonder why Billsif was aggravated why I called him a Nazi collaborator. He doesn't know who he was dealing with." Marty got up and headed to the door. "Where are you going?" asked Hughes. "I've gotta stop him." said Marty. The FBI man blocked the way. "You're going nowhere." he said. Marty looked at the DeLorean. The bike that Emmett loaned was still attached onto it from last night. So Marty pointed to a spot and said "Look. There's Billsif now." The FBI man turned to look. As he did, Marty delivered a right cross and bullozed him down. The other men chased after Marty as he got to the DeLorean and removed the bike so he could ride it. Hughes notice the men reaching into their coats to pull out their sidearms and immediately said "No guns, please." Marty got onto the bike and rode off. "Just follow him." said Hughes as he watched Marty ride off to the cementary.
