MARTY saw that Brutus was distracted. He was keeping an eye on the soldier leaving instead of his opponent. Seeing this, Marty dropped his sword and charged after him. The noise of the sword dropping caused Brutus turn around and face left hook and a right cross from Marty. After that, Marty fled,
On deck, Marty ran into some more men saying. One of them saying “Hey, Heston’s getting away. Stop him!”
Then, Marty pointed to a spot and said “Hey look.” And the men did. Immediately, he bulldozed them and fled to the spot where he parked the DeLorean. Getting there, he tried to feel his way to the car but discovered that it wasn’t there. Great! he said to himself, Just great. Then, he noticed some more ships appearing over the horizon and was coming this way and firing on the conspirator’s ships. Mark Antonty, he went onto say to himself, and Octavius.
“Marty!”
Marty looked up. There hanging out of nowhere was the face of Jules.
“Jules.” he said, “It’s good to see you. Have you returned Calpurnia yet?”
“No I didn’t.” said Jules, “I wanted to get you before I leave.”
Noticing the men paying more attention to the attacking ships, Marty said “Okay. But make it quick.” He felt a breeze the he heard the sound of the DeLorean descending to the deck.
“Oh no you don’t “
Marty turned around to see Brutus charging after him. Jules opened the door for him, and he turned to get in when Brutus let fly his sword. It hit Marty head on in the back and Marty collapsed.
“Marty!” exclaimed all three time travelers.
Immediately all three time travelers got out to help Marty into the DeLorean despite his pleas. “No.” he said “Get back in there and get the hell out of here.”
“Not without you, Marty.” said Jules as he, his brother and Calpurnia got Marty into the back.
Then, with the quarry in the car, Jules closed the door and tried to activate the hover circuits. But instead of the hovering switch, he hit the cloaking button instead. The car became visible.
“Wrong button!” said Jules.
Outside, Brutus watched in amazement. “What in Hades?” he exclaimed.
“It’s that thing I saw that kid get into.” said one of this men, “He, Calpurnia and the other kid. And it disappeared.”
“After them.” ordered Brutus.
“But sir.” said the soldier, “Mark Antony…”
“I said after those four.” insisted Brutus.
In the car, Jules said “I’ve gotta get you all outta here.” Finally locating the hover button, he said “Here goes everything.” He pushed it and the car lifted off.
On the ship, Brutus and the men who weren’t paying attention to the oncoming fleet looked skyward in amazement. Then, Brutus said “Shoot down that, whatever it is.”
“But, my lord.” insisted one of the soldiers, “Calpurnia and the two boys escaped. We no longer have any human shields. We have to defend ourselves.”
“Give me a bow”, said Brutus, “and some arrows.”
“But sir…”
“No buts! Give me a bow and some arrows.”
Just then, the car got snagged in the line of one of the sails causing to ship to rock. As a result of the jarring, a man dropped a bow and a bundle of arrows. Brutus picked up the bow and some arrows and shot it at the flying vehicle. A direct hit!
In the car, the Jules and his passengers felt the thud. “What was that?” exclaimed Verne.
“I don’t know, Verne.” said Jules turning to the back where Calpurnia was caring for the injured Marty he asked “Are you two alright…” He was stopped mid-speech when he saw something that made him gasp: The glass housing the flux capacitor was cracked. “Oh no.” he said.
“What is it, Jules?” asked Verne.
“The flux capacitor.” he said, “It’s cracked.”
“What does that mean?” asked Calpurnia.
“It means that the time circuits are good for one usage.” said Jules, “And it’s usage has to be soon or we’re all trapped here in 44 B.C.”
“What are we going to do?” asked Verne.
“We’re going to steer the car towards the shore and drop Calpurnia off.” said Jules, “And then we’re going back to the future and call 911.”
“Call 911?” exclaimed Verne, “We can’t go back to the future and do that. What if mom and dad find out that we were time traveling? We’ll be grounded.”
“And another thing.” said Calpurnia, “Antony and Octavius think we’re still on the boat. If you drop me off on the shore. They’ be asking how I escaped.”
“Well, that’s a chance you’ll have to take, we don’t have time to think about one for you.” said Jules as he was setting the time circuits for 1988 and the destination for Hill Valley, “We’ve got to get Marty back to the future and the time circuits are good for only one usage now.” Then, turning to Verne he said “And I’d rather be grounded than let Marty die.”
Calpurnia sat there in the back seat with the bleeding Marty perturbed. She looked out the window and saw the ship that they were being held hostage on now going down. Then, she looked down on the floor and saw the sword she had with her lying on the floor near her feet. Next to Marty, was the tunic he was wearing before he changed into that soldier’s uniform. She also remembered what she did to prevent Marty from going back in time to save her husband. Quietly, she picked up the tunic and wrapped it in her hand. Then, she went over to pick up the sword and started to eye the gas pedal.
Then, she said “Boy are we glad that we got off that ship fast. Look at it sink.”
Jules turn to watch the barge go down and Calpurnia saw her chance. Immediately, she reached over and pushed down the lever activating the time circuits.
Jules turned to look exclaiming “What?”
Seeing the two boys too petrified to do anything else, she used the handle end of the sword and pushed down on the pedal. At once, the car sped up.
“What are you doing?” asked Jules.
But before he got a response, there was a brilliant flash of light surrounding the car.
Wednesday, March 16, 1988
2:15 p.m.
Hill Valley, California
When the light dissipated, they found themselves over their house 1988 Hill Valley.
Jules turned to Calpurnia asking “Why did you do that for?”
“Because I feel responsible for what happened.” said Calpurnia, “I just can’t explain to them that I escaped. They’ll be asking me what happened to you three. And what am I suppose to say, that you three are really time travelers from the future and you used this flying chariot to help me escape?”
Then, Jules remembered something. “The cloaking device.” he said, “I didn’t turn it back on.”
He looked down at the street below and saw motorists gawking at the DeLorean. Immediately, he turned it back on.

Red Thomas was walking past the Brown’s house when he noticed an unusual number of cars with both their drivers and passengers getting out and looking skyward.
“What’s going on here?” he asked.
“I don’t know.” said one of the gawkers, “We just saw a UFO appear out of nowhere and then disappear. And it looked like a one of those DeLoreans.”
Red looked up what they were looking at and saw nothing.
“Crazy drunk stargazers.” he said.

Jules steered the car towards where the roof would open and pushed the button so it could open. Once it did, Jules hovered the car into the opening and descended to the floor of the lab. After turning off the motor, he pushed the button and the roof closed. Then, he and Verne got out.
“Verne.” he said, “Call 911.” And Verne did.
Meanwhile, Jules went back to the DeLorean and pull the bucket seat forward so he could help Calpurnia carry Marty out of the car. With Marty flat on his face and unconscious, Jules and Calpurnia looked at the sword that was still in his back.
“We’ve got to get it out of there.” said Calpurnia.
Jules was about to when Verne said “Hey Jules, I’ve got them.”
“Alright.” said Jules, “Tell them what’s happened but don’t tell them anything about time travel. Just say that Marty has a sword in his back and we want to know what to do before the ambulance arrives.”
Verne did. Moments later, he said “They said don’t remove the sword or he’ll bleed a lot faster. But they said put some gauze around it.”
Going to the First Aid box, Jules took some gauze out and returned to Marty. Then, he applied it around the sword to stop the bleeding.
More minutes went by in which Verne kept relaying more advice from the 911 number before someone entered. It was Doc and Clara.
The two were both aghast at what they were seeing. “Jules.” exclaimed Doc, “Verne! What in the name of Sir Isaac Newton has happened here?”
“Mom, Dad.” said Jules, “Marty’s hurt.”
“What?” exclaimed Doc as he looked at Marty.
“He was stabbed by Brutus.” said Calpurnia.
Doc turned to see her saying “Calpurnia. What are you doing here?”
“I came here because it was my fault.” said Calpurnia, “Marty went back in time to my era to by his beloved a gift and these two boys wanted to come along.”
“You mean Jules and Verne?” asked Clara.
Doc turned to the boys and demanded “Why didn’t you two stop Marty? Didn’t you know that it was one of those unauthorized trips through time that eventually led to Jennifer’s eating disorder?”
The two boys knew what their father was talking about: Marty and Jennifer’s trip to 1978 to witness their first meeting in which Marty inadvertently altered Jim Jandick’s destiny making him a more kinder and gentler man towards his wife Jan allowing her to finally become a successful businesswoman resulting in Jennifer’s jealousy and breakup with Marty forcing the Browns to take both of them back in time to Renaissance Italy where Jennifer was attacked and nearly raped by Biff’s ancestor Count Tannenio. It was that that caused Jennifer to have bulimia.
So Jules said “Because we wanted to see Rome too.”
Clara was angry. “You two are so grounded. Go to your rooms.” she said.
“What about Marty?” asked Jules, “And Verne is still trying to get…”
“Is that 911?” asked Doc.
“Yes.”
“Alright, I’ll take it from here. Calpurnia take over for Jules.”
Calpurnia did as Jules and Verne were marched off to their bedroom.
Then, from outside the lab Clara said “Emmett, the ambulance is here.”
“Clara.” said Doc, “Quick get in here and activate the cloaking devices on all the machines.”
Coming back into lab, Clara did. She was barely finished when there was a knock at the door.
“Clara get the door.” said Doc, “Calpurnia, I’ll take it from here. You make yourself scarce.”
“Why, Dr. Brown?” asked Calpurnia.
“Because of what you’re wearing.” said Doc.
Calpurnia forgot that she was still in her nightgown and that she was now in her future. But then she asked “What about Marty? Look at what he’s wearing.”
“I know, Calpurnia.” said Doc, “I’ll have to explain to them that he was planning to go to a costume party Saturday night and didn’t know how it was dangerous to use a real sword. I think they’ll understand that.”
Calpurnia nodded in agreement. Then footsteps were heard and Doc motioned her to get into the closet of period clothing. Calpurnia did. The paramedics entered the lab and started to tend to Marty Meanwhile, Clara came back into the lab with some clothing.
“It’s for Calpurnia.” she whispered.
Doc nodded in agreement. “She’s in the closet.” he said, “Just quietly sneak it in there.” Clara did. And while she was, Doc went over to look.
One of the paramedics asked “What was he doing with a sword?”
“Oh it was a part of this costume he was going to wear this Saturday night.” said Doc, “He thought he was trying to be macho and got carried away.”
“I see.” said the paramedic.
Then, the other paramedic said “He’s ready to go.”
“Alright now.” said the first paramedic, “Carefully put him on the gurney and wheel him out.”
Seconds passed as they lifted Marty onto a gurney that was wheeled into the lab after which he was wheeled out to the ambulance.
Meanwhile, the first paramedic asked Doc “Do you know if he has relatives?”
“Yes I do.” said Doc.
“I suggest you’d notify them at once.”
“We will. Clara, you’d better call Marty’s parents.”
“Alright Emmett.”
Immediately, she went to the phone and called the McFly’s.
“I’d guess that will be all.” said the paramedic, “Unless you have something else to say.”
“We don’t.” said Doc, “Thanks.”
“You’re welcome.” said the paramedic as he and Doc shook hands.
After the ambulance pulled out of the driveway, Calpurnia emerged from the closet wearing an outfit suitable for the ‘80’s.
After Doc de cloaked the time machines, Calpurnia said “Listen Dr. Brown, it’s as much as my fault as it was for the boys’ and Marty’s.”
“In what way?” asked Doc.
“Just say, that I wanted to be a mother.” Calpurnia went onto say, “Just this past week I lost my husband and I failed to bear him a son. And then, I see Marty return with those two boys and I got obsessed with the idea of being a mother. So I invited them to stay the week in my time. I didn’t know the idea would’ve gotten me, Marty and those two boys in trouble. One of the house servants was working for Brutus and Cassius and hit on the idea that those two boys were my sons and Julius’s and sent a message to the conspirators. Before I knew it, me and the boys were kidnapped and Marty had to come to the rescue. When he did, he got into a swordfight with Brutus and was wounded. We barely escaped but one of the arrows struck the time machine while we did.”
Doc turned to look inside the DeLorean and said “The flux capacitor.”
“Jules said it was good for one usage.” said Calpurnia, “And it was for the trip home.”
“Well, he made the right decision.” said Doc, “It’s doubtful that there would be anything to fix it back in your time. Here in the present, it’ll take weeks for it to be repaired.”
“And what about me?” asked Calpurnia.
“There’s the time train and the limousine.” suggested Clara.
“Out of the question.” said Doc, “The “AD-BC” time circuits haven’t been tested on those yet. And besides, we need to figure out how to explain Calpurnia’s disappearance and return.”
“There was a battle.” said Calpurnia, “Brutus and his fleet was attacked by Mark Antony’s and Octavius’s fleet.”
“Well, that’ll be a start.” said Doc, “Listen, I’ve got to go to the hospital. The McFly’s should be there now. Clara as for you and Calpurnia I think…”
“I think I should go along with you, Dr. Brown.” said Calpurnia, “I’m responsible for what has happened here.”
“But Calpurnia…” protested Doc. Then he looked at the hurt look on Calpurnia’s face and said “Alright you could come along. Clara, watch the boys will you?”
“And Clara.” said Calpurnia, “It’s nice to know you.”
“Alright you two.” said Clara.
After that, Doc and Calpurnia left for the hospital.
