Happiness is a Warm Gun
Lennon/McCartney
She's not a girl who misses much
Do do do do do do do do
She's well acquainted with the touch of the velvet hand
Like a lizard on a window pane.
The man in the crowd with the multicoloured mirrors
On his hobnail boots
Lying with his eyes while his hands are busy
Working overtime
A soap impression of his wife which he ate
And donated to the Nation Trust.
I need a fix 'cause I'm going down
Down to the bits that I left uptown
I need a fix cause I'm going down
Mother Superior jump the gun
Mother Superior jump the gun
Mother Superior jump the gun
Mother Superior jump the gun.
Happiness is a warm gun
Happiness is a warm gun
When I hold you in my arms
And I feel my finger on your trigger
I know no one can do me no harm
Because happiness is a warm gun
-Yes it is.
Yoko was having an art show in London at the gallery called Indica Art Gallery. And I had this that this was going to be a happening. So I went down the night before the opening. Also, the first thing that was in the gallery when I went in was this white stepladder and a painting on the ceiling and a spyglass hanging down. I walked up this ladder and I picked up the spyglass. I was balancing there. And this tiny little writing said "yes". But if it said "no", or something nasty like "ripoff", I would've left the gallery. Because it positively said "yes", I thought "Okay, it's the first show that said something warm." So I decided to see the rest of the show. And that's when we met.-John.
