BACKGROUND: The idea of having the Beatles in Back to the Future™ Pt.IV came in 1994. Thirty years after the Beatles came to America. I'd figured "Why not honor the fourth installment of the trilogy with the 'Fab Four'?" Of course, the trilogy's creators Robert Zemekis and Bob Gale did "I Wanna Hold Your Hands" back in 1978 and was even told about it last year from the webmaster at Back to the Future™ the Website even though it would be possible for the two universes of the BTTF trilogy and "I Wanna Hold Your Hands" might converge. If anyone has read the e-mail from Back to the Future™ mailing list recently and read my suggestion that the Beatles should be in Back to the Future™ Pt IV, well that was me. And if Mr Zemekis and Mr. Gale won't write it and nobody else is going to write it well then I will.
Synopsis:
Moments after Doctor Brown and Family left Marty and Jennifer
behind a bizzare thing happened. Marty discovered Jennifer gone.
And so was his truck. And once again the "Eastwood
Ravine" was renamed back to "Clayton Ravene". As
Marty walked back to his home he discovered that someone else was
living there. After arriving at Jennifer's house he finds her.
Only to learn that she never knew him. What's worse she's dating
Needles. The same boy that earlier in the day challenged him to a
truck race that almost caused him to smash into a Rolls-Royce.
However, Needles does not remember the incendent or Marty. Marty
goes about town and discovers that nobody has seen him before. He
finally arrives at Biff's house and discovered two bratty boys
named-of all people-Beavis and Butthead. They beat Marty to
unconsciousness. When he revives he discovers that his mother is
now the abused wife of Biff Tannen. What has happened to
George McFly he asks himself. He gets his answer when he
goes to Oak Park Cementary and discovers that his dad is dead
again. This time from poisoning. This time the date of death is
February 9, 1964. The night of the Beatles performance on the Ed
Sullivan Show. Doctor Brown arrives to tell Marty that he
has misplaced a jar of poison while he and his family were trying
to return to their own time. Apparently, the time circuits
malfunctioned causing the train to momentarly appear on the date
of February 9, 1964 over New York City when and where the jar of
poison fell out and landed in some bushes somewhere or somewhere
soft. (This is where the Destination Location should be
introduced). Doc tells Marty that he uses poison instead of
garbage to load the fusion generator. "It's clean." he
says "Not messy, and a heluva way to get rid of the DDT that
was banned during the '70s." After some research the two
discover the big headline in a 1964 Hill Valley Telegraph newspaper
that read "Tragedy at Ed Sullivan Show. McFLY
POISONED" They read that George McFly was covering the
Beatles appearence for the Telegraph and that night he
ate something that had something that killed him. "That must
be the poison" said Doc Brown. Someone had poisoned George
McFly's food. But who? Who else? Biff. Marty goes over to his
house and confronts Biff. Tells him that he knows what happened
to George McFly. Biff tells Marty that is happened in parking lot
of the hotel that the Beatles were staying in. There he was
waxing the Beatles car and this "divine provedence"
graced him. A flash of light from the sky follow a dropping of a
jar that read "poison". He realized his destiny to get
back at that "butthead" and snuck the jar into the
theatre that night and poisoned his food. After hearing the story
Marty breaks away from him to tell Doc. (By now we see that Doc
Brown has another DeLorean). The travel back in the new time
machine to the year 1964 to prevent tragedy.
