"Woman of the Year"

Plot:This is the follow-up to Return to Hell Valley

Synopsis:On his way to an awards banquet for his mother, Marty is suddenly kidnapped by his girlfriend Jennifer who demands that he takes her to Doc's house. Upon arriving, she demands the DeLorean threating to kill Clara and the boys if Doc doesn't comply. Forcing both him and Marty into the trunk, she takes off in the car. After awhile, she springs the two who learn that the Jennifer who has been doing this is not really their Jennifer but a Jennifer from the Biff-altered reality. She explains that she and a few friends have been heading an underground group of dissedents dedicated to the overthrow of the Tannen regime and that some of these dissedents have been infiltrating Biff's operations and all government offices that has been in his pocket for a few years now and putting listening and veiwing devices in all buildings known to Biff and the Pleasure Paradise hotel. It was during one of these veiwings that the alternate Jennifer saw herself and Marty in Biff's office apartment talking to Biff who showed them the Sports Almanac. A close newspaper study of a photograph of Biff winning a horse race in 1958 and the book on the screen told them what Doc and Marty knew all along: That Biff wasn't lucky, he knew because he had all the results in that book. Learning that the Doc Brown of their reality had been designing a time machine before he was committed, some of the dissidents embarked to his abandoned lab to pick up the blueprints so they could build one themselves. In using it to go back in time to take away one Almanac from Biff and burn it and then going to the future to buy him another, they were able to bridge the gap between realities. Learning that the Jennifer from our reality has been Marty's girlfriend and was to go with Marty to the awards banquet that night, the alternate Jennifer had volunteered to go there to fetch him and Doc. Then, she gives them the reason why she did this: Biff Tannen was dead. Murdered by his wife and Marty's mother Lorraine. Meanwhile, with Biff's son Jiff in charge now, the alternate Marty has been hiding out in Argentina hence the reason for the alternate Jennifer's need to have Marty. Apparently, the surviving McFly's have now become a threat to the Tannen regime now that Biff was gone. The alternate Jennifer also tells Marty that the alternate Lorraine has been sentenced to die by lethal injection for the murder of her husband and it was up to him to spring her. After a visit to his mother in prison, Marty agrees.

Background: A little tidbit of triviality here. I picked September 19, 1987 as the "Present Date" for this story because it was the day a friend of mine got married. (No, I wasn't invited.:-() Her name was Jackie (pictured here with me.). She was an usherette at Candlestick Park during baseball season way back in the '80's. I first saw her in 1982 when I read the "Ben Davis" logo on the seat of her pants. (I was a little tipsy in those days. Thank God I don't drink anymore.) After the 1987 season she quit and for the next twelve years I didn't see her until last year (Hometown Days 2000) in my hometown San Carlos. For some time now, she, her husband and two kids have been living in my city.

This also marks the first time that I used a picture that wasn't taken from the internet now that I've got a scanner:-). So nobody please get mad at me for stealing pictures from their webpages on this one. That pic of me and Jackie has been in my possession for the last 15 years and wasn't scanned until the other day.

Up till now, the speculation was that the alternate Biff was shot by Lorraine sometime during the 1990's. (I even had Doc mentioned it happening during the '90's in "Back to the Ides of Marchs") Then, I wrote "Return to Hell Valley" and Biff was murdered in 1986 just and Doc, Marty and Jennifer left for 1955.
