Page-1 Sport Electrics

 
Dereck Woodward's  Sig, Four Star 40. 60" span, weighs 5 3/4 pounds. Has a top hatch from firewall to canopy to allow the nicad to go in from the top, otherwise largely built as per the kit.

Covering is Micafilm, RC gear is four FMA Direct S200 servos and a Futaba receiver.

The motor is a MaxCim MaxNeo-13Y with 3:1 gearbox driving a 13 x 6-10 Zinger wood prop on 20 2000mA cells. Controller is a Maxu35A-21 digital unit. Maximum current is around 35A, for 700 watts input.

 

 

       

Ken Marrow's CUB,  Aveox 1415 2y with 3.7:1 Robbe planetary GB and Aveox
controller (the older one, H-60).  With 22 ea. 1700s it swings a 15x6-10 and will fly about 8 mins.  I also have a 24 cell pack which uses a 16x8 prop. And develops 1.2kw. 
It was built and used to tow 4 meter sailplanes for the Seattle Soaring Society. It  weighs 10 lbs with the larger pack, goes 70 mph top speed and stalls at ~ 20 mph. 

 

John Smyborski's Antic with MaxCim 15-13Y motor, 2.7:1 gear box 15x8 prop on 16 cells. 72 inch wing span with 949 square inches of wing area.

Dereck Woodward's  Great Planes CAP 232. 59" span. Flying weight 6 3/4 lb, covered in Towerkote. Radio gear - Futaba RX with Deans mini-whip aerial, two standard servos on rudder and elevator, two FMA Direct S200 mini servos on ailerons.

 

   

Modified internally to take a MaxCim NeoMax 13y, BEC controller, geared 3:1 on 20 2,000mA cells. 13 x 8 Zinger prop, 30A maximum.
