Dotman's Connecting Dots |
Connecting Dots
Remember the game of Dots? Well now there's a windows version. But first a little history.
In 1982 I programmed a version of Dots for the Radio Shack TRS80 Model III.
Then in 1990 I finally decided to rewrite it for the PC under DOS adding a few more features.
Now in 2002 guess what I decided it was time for a windows version, how's that for procrastination.
Connecting Dots is a two player game which consists of a matrix of dots which form a rectangular playing field.
Each player, in turn, draws a line between two adjacent dots.
The line may be either horizontal or vertical.
If a box is formed by the line, the player scores a point and receives another turn.
When the playing field has been completed, the player with the highest score wins.
While Connecting Dots is a 2 player game, this computer version allows one or both players to be the computer.
Some of the features of the game are:
- Maximum grid size based on window size.
- Change color of background and grid.
- Start the game at the point where boxes will be formed.
- Get a hint from the computer for your next move.
- 3 levels of computer intelligence.
- Save an in progress game.
- Open a saved game.
- Turn sound on and off.
