Glossary of Active Ingredients
Acetaminophen: Analgesic, antipyretic. Used for treatment of mild to moderate pain and fever. Commonly known by trade name "Tylenol". Click here for dosage chart.
Chlorpheniramine: Antihistamine. Used for treatment of allergic rhinitis and other allergic symptoms. May cause drowsiness.
Dextromethorphan: Antitussive, cough preparation. Used for the treatment of a chronic nonproductive cough. Should be taken with full glass of water.
Diphenhydramine: Antihistamine, sedative, antidote. Used for the treatment of allergic symptoms caused by nasal allergies, allergic dermatosis. Can be used fo mild nighttime sedation, prevention of motion sickness, and as an antitussive. It also has topical anesthetic properties. Commonly known by trade name "Benadryl"
Ibuprofen: Analgesic, Non-steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drug (NSAID), Anti-inflammatory, Antipyretic. Used for the treatment of mild to moderate pain, fever, dysmenorrhea, gout, acute migraine headaches, inflammatory diseases and rheumatoid disorders. Commonly known by trade names "Advil" or "Motrin".Click here for dosage chart.
Phenylpropanolamine: Decongestant. Used for treatment of nasal congestion. May cause insomnia and restlessness.
Pseudoephedrine: Decongestant. Used for the treatment of nasal congestion due to the common cold, upper respiratory allergies and sinusitis. It also promotes nasal or sinus drainage. May cause insomnia and restlessness.
