first names of boys or girls. In most instances this first name was
omitted to prevent duplication of first name within the same family.
Whenever the maiden name of the mother was not given, the name of the
father has been used in parentheses. Persons bearing the exact same name
were numbered not knowing whether it is the same person or someone different,
especialy when a different spouse is indicated.
Name changes, variations, and anglicisms appear throughout. The most
significant are:
