  The complete database now includes nearly 7,000 US patents and published applications, covering the period from 1892 to the present. More than 1,000 patents and applications are now being published each year, equivalent to more than 25,000 pages of printed material. The database covers all facets of RP including: processes, materials, and software; diverse RP applications such as as art and medicine; rapid tooling and rapid manufacturing. All topics which have a bearing on the development of additive technologies or markets are included.
 Visit the RP Patent Museum to learn about the most important intellectual property from both historical and fundamental invention perspectives. This feature includes material on approximately 85 US patents that illuminate the development of the field, and provide an overview of its applications. Readers interested in doing a thorough search, however, should use the complete database.
