Public speakers or videos about Rapid Manufacturing?

Ed:

Do you know of a speaker or maybe a video clip that describes the present technologies and future expectations of the RM industry? If nothing else, I certainly would like to update our engineers and designers so they may realize the new possibilities of the RM process.

BS

Hi BS:

The most extensive evaluation I know of starts at this page on our site:

http://home.att.net/~castleisland/rm_c.htm

The article is based mostly on a lot of research into the IP of the field and describes the wide range of future possibilities. Intellectual property is the main place where you can learn such info at the moment. Many companies that may be using some form of RM are likely keeping their work under wraps.

The text is linked in appropriate places to other sections on the site which delve more deeply into the details. There are a handful of survey papers and you can find references to the better of them in the bibliography of the section.

There may be some video someplace - but it's not likely and I'm certainly not aware of it. If you find something, please let me know. Terry Wohlers is a well-known and knowledgeable speaker in the area of RP and related areas. Another person who is at the forefront of RM on the academic side is Phil Dickens of Loughboro Univ.
