Starting an RP service bureau -1

Hello

I would like to start my own Rapid Prototyping company. I know a lot about 3D CAD; I've been in the biz for 8 years and I was in 2D printing for 5 years before that.

I would to start my own service provider company and do game models on the side for fun. Could you give me a hand with the technologies out there?

I don't know much... I know about paper systems, wax, foam but not much more...

You can learn everything you need to know about technology by carefully - and patiently - looking at the technology introduction and FAQ sections of the site.

First though, locate the RP Digest section and read some of the articles concerning SB's there. Pay particular attention to a fairly recent one by Todd Grimm and Terry Wohlers from TCT.

The one piece of advice I specifically have for you is that the days of simply buying a machine and being in business are long over. You need a good plan to differentiate yourself from the 700+ places that are doing the work today.
