Hello,

I'm Fotinula Antonatu (de Kazana), class of 69, in school known as Fotinula, Foti, Feña, Fenya, Fena, anyway thanks to my rare greek name I had a lot of variations to it!!!

I got to the website thanks to Anita Muller-Santiago who found me through Facebook and am very excited to locate friends from those fantastic school days.

I'd very much appreciate if you would add my name and contact details to the list. I currently live in Athens, Greece and am a Spanish teacher and book translator.

My emails are: fantonatos@hotmail.com, fkazana@otenet.gr

Congratulations on the page, and thanks to all of you who have made it possible!

I have been blissfully married to my wife, Cyndi for the last 18 years, raising a family and learning what is really important in life…family and spending time with them. My focus is on my family and my 5 kids living in Fort Bend County near Houston, Texas. I have 4 girls, Chelsea 19, Mariah 12, Kali 10 and Taryn 4 and one boy Connor 16.

I have been taking pictures for 45 years and have a deep love of photography. I love taking children’s sporting pictures, baseball, softball, swimming and assorted water sports. I also enjoy taking pictures of nature, people and places we go. I have started to make some money with this love, but my SEO business pays the bills. I get to work from a home office and so I get to spend a lot of time with the kids which I love.

You can see my photography at http://shawphotoworks.smugmug.com/

I cherish the years I spent at ALC and those memories I have of the people I met there. I am afraid I remember a Venezuela that no longer exists, but I want to go back as I made many Venezuelan friends on my many surf trips back to Venezuela.

I am still surfing, it keeps me young and I still play competitive volleyball. I have played in 12 US National tournaments and have been playing with an age group team that represents Texas and we do pretty well. We will be playing in Atlanta at the 2008 US Nationals on our 55+ team. We camp a lot as we live in the great state of  Texas a love the hill country (up NW of Austin). I coach a volleyball girl’s club team and have also coached my daughter’s softball and my son’s baseball teams.

I would love to hear from any and all of my old friends!

Hi there - I would appreciate if you could change my eMail details to this one please (Hal.Carim@gmail.com).

If any of you chroniclers are interested I have a '59 yearbook  in case you are missing that

If the venerable web master is still active how about adding a two cell picture slot beside each name for us to
contribute (voluntarily) on how we left and where we have arrived....

Keep Well and Thanks... Hal

Hello Hal - thanks for your email and yes, I'm very interested in your 1959 yearbook - at least the names of the graduating Seniors of that year.
As far as your idea of adding the pics - I think it's a wonderful idea - I'll write a newsletter about it - although I don't get too much traffic.  Also, I do this website the way I learned back in 1998 ... with floppy discs and Netscape composer ... and one of my discs isn't working - it takes me forever to figure new things out, so be patient!
Saludos, Bobbie

I went to ALC from 66 to 68, but was having too much fun and my parents sent me to Florida to graduate.

I have talked to many of my old classmate, Bob Watson, Robert Sisko, Maggie Nero, Bill Vail, Arlene Alverez, Tom Monroe, Mandy and Tony Boyce, Bonnie Brown and others.

I would still like to locate any of my old classmates, especially Ronnie Webber, Carol Becker, Vicki Hiem, Mrs. Connelly and her daughters Anne and Lee, and Conrad Delgado.

I am living outside of Houston Texas and have been married 18 years and have 5 children, Chelsea 18 in her 2nd year at Baylor, Connor 15, Mariah 11, Kali 9 and Taryn Rae 3. (I am a late bloomer.)

I do SEO (search engine optimization) work for a number of doctors and other clients. I still sell video walls, but my SEO business takes most of my time. I am also very into photography and you can check out my photos at www.shawphotoworks.smugmug.com.

After I graduated in 69 I kept returning to Caracas till the early eighties, and cherish those years I was there. That time and place of my life will always have a special place in my heart.

I would love to hear from any of my classmates!

I just want to take a moment to express heartfelt gratitude for this website, and for the connections it allows.

A short time ago, Toni Figueroa posted a note looking for me, among others. She is in London, UK; I am in Alexandria, Virginia; earlier this week we got together in Philadelphia, where she was visiting her daughter. I cannot begin to tell you what a wonderful reunion it was -- the last time I saw Toni was right before the earthquake, nearly forty years ago... we had been friends in that intense way that drew people together who knew they only had a short time -- everyone moved on, usually every couple of years -- there were few of us who stayed indefinitely, and so it has always been difficult to maintain contact over the years. Toni and I lost touch not long after she left, but now we have re-established our friendship, thanks to this website.

I am sure is is not a unique tale, and would love to see postings of others who have gotten back together again after so many years. What stories we have to share!

I am Ken Bryant.   I graduated in June 1969.   I think there were only 13 guys and about 35 girls in the Class of 69.

Anyone who remembers Senior Slave Day may remember a couple of Girls bought me and made me wear a Girl's Nighty and High Heels the entire day........ that was so embarrassing !   We also had to push peanuts around on the ground using our noses.

I played on the Football  Basket Ball, and Base Ball  teams.   1969 Was the first year that the Football team won most of it's games.  My First year there was in the 10 th grade and we had a big celebration when the Football team had it's first  TIE GAME......Woopie !

In my graduating year book it mentions something about me wanting to be an astronaut ........  well I guest it's obvious I never made it into outer space.

I am currently working for Tyco International as Systems Analyst in King of Prussia, PA  ..........   Tyco ........ does that ring a bell ......Yep ........   We are famous for our Past President, who was found guilty of the Biggest Corporate RIP-OFF  in the history of the World .....more than   600 Million Dollars !  ENRON ....  Eat Your Heart Out .......  you only Ripped the Stockholders off for 60 Million !

I graduated from Penn State in  1975 with a BS in Mechanical Engineering and later picked up a degree in Computers, which is what I have been working with most of the past 30 Years.  When I first started working with computers you wrote programs using punched cards.  Does anyone even know what those are any more.  A computer with  256 Kilobytes  (Not  Megabyte)  was a Big Deal !    Now most hand held calculators have more memory.

I am married.   My wife Susan works for the Vanguard Group in their headquarters in Malvern PA.    My son Steven works for Verizon and my daughter  Sharon just graduated from University of Delaware and is starting a job with Pfizer.

We have 4 dogs....   two of them are Corgies...... They are so cute......  they are little dogs who think they are Big Dogs !

Well ....... Thanks for the Memories !

Ken Bryant

I remember Mrs. Hayes' kind welcome when I first came to school in mid term speaking very basic English. Later that year I recieved the "most improvment in English" award mainly due to the special English lessons I got from Mrs. Glussky. Some other friends were Rainer Lilienthal (71) and Riki Alvarez. Note: forwarded message attached.

Hi everyone,

We are planning to have our next Caracas reunion the weekend of July 25, 2003 at the Yankee Clipper in Fort Lauderdale.  We are working on the details now and are trying to get a headcount of who will be able to come.  As it stands now, we are planning a Friday night poolside party with hor's doerves and a bar.  On Saturday night we are planning a dinner/dance in one of the hotel meeting rooms.

This year, we will be including not only Campo Alegre alumni, but also La Castellana and Colegio Americano.  Please pass this information on to any old friends (and/or to Cristy Macias and me) you have stayed in contact with.  We are still trying to contact a number of people we couldn't find for the 2002 reunion at Del Lago.

Since Fort Lauderdale is smaller and the Yankee Clipper is closer to the airport, we won't have to organize shuttles this time.  Transportation to & from should be very easy.

Hope to see you there!

January 7/03 - Feliz Navidad y Próspero Año Nuevo!

Just 16 more days until the HUGE Colegio Americano reunion in Houston.  (For those of us that are going on the Cruise, it is just 11 days).  In case you haven't committed yet, there is still time!!!!!   On January 18, approximately a dozen of us are sailing from Galveston to Cozumel and Playa del Carmen on the Carnival Cruise Lines.  Then on Friday, January 24, a whole lot more of us are descending on Houston, TX for a weekend reunion.  There is still time sign up!  Two week advance airfare tickets are still under $300 for a Saturday night stay from almost all US cities!

Susie Wilson (now Susan Sellier) and her husband Peter are hosting an authentic Pebellon Criollo dinner at their house Saturday night.  Friday night a dinner outing is planned at a Houston Latino restaurant near the official CA Alumni Reunion Hotel... the Adams Mark.  ACT FAST!  ACT NOW!  This is a limited time offer.  For those of you in Venezuela, we all hope and pray that you are are safe, and if you can get out, please join us.  We would love to see you!

For those of you using Netscape Navigator, there have been some problems recently logging on to the web site recently.  I believe those problems have been resolved.  If you have any problems, please let me know.  In case you have forgotten, the web site is

http://12.218.1.227/ca/

Your username should be the the first part of your email address, the part before the @ symbol.  I have no idea what your password is, but if you need a new one, I can assign one.  Just drop me an email.

Please RSVP for the reunion by responding to the Survey on the web site.  It is the the second from the top on the left pane of the web site homepage.  So far, 8 people have responded.  Please respond either way so the organizers can better plan.  If you would rather not log on to the web site ( or for some reason can't) please RSVP by responding to this email or by emailing Susie Wilson (Sellier) at spbs@sbcglobal.net .  We look forward to seeing you in Houston in two + weeks!

My name is Leslie McTyre and I left there my junior year in 1966 so I guess my class is actually 1967.  I'm in McLean, VA.   This is one of the great finds I have experienced on the internet.  Thanks for putting it together and keeping it going.

I am a 1971 alumnus of ALC and was delighted to find your website by
happenstance - what a wonderful surprise it was! Long ago memories were made
fresh again by seeing the names of many of my former classmates. This is all
the more so given the events that have transpired in Venezuela over the past
few days leading to the overthrow of the Chavez regime. I was visiting
Caracas on business late last week when the political environment began to
turn critical, and chose to leave for home in the USA on Monday, ahead of the
next day's scheduled general strike. However, for a few  wonderful days I had
the sense of being truly home after a long absence. I sat on the terrace of
the hotel Tamanaco on a warm evening and remembered having breakfast at the
same hotel the morning after our graduation prom in 1971. A number of us left
around midnight from the hotel Avila, where the "official" school prom dance
took place, to the discoteca Eva, at the Centro Comercial Chacaito, and after
a night of dancing, eventually made our way home after breakfast at the
Tamanaco, still dressed in our tuxedos. Among us were Liora Axelrad,
Margarita Itriago, Francisco Perez Trejo, and over the course of the evening
also Rainer Lilienthal, Enrique Velutini (el oso), and Tomas Paredes, along
with their respective dates, whose names the fog of time has erased from my
memory.

I was only at ALC for that one year and then went to college in the states,
but it was indeed a wonderful year at a time in my life that was carefree,
and when the future was bright and knew no bounds. Caracas was indeed, as was
often said, "la sucursal del cielo". The Caracas Theater Club was very active
then, and the weekends at the beach in Puerto Azul carousing with friends
were unforgettable. Pizza at Tomaselli's, drinking "bombas" at the Macuto
Sheraton, and "cocadas" in Los Corales were all part of the environment that
a priviledged few, ourselves included, made Venezuela a wonderful place to
live. I hope that as the country takes a new direction under the stewardship
of a new political and economic team, future generations of Venezuelans may
have the same opportunities that were afforded to us 30 years ago.

My name is Mary Ellen Mattox.  I attended ALC from 1958-1966 when I
transferred to Colegio Americano from which I graduated in 1968.  My family
had moved to the Baruta area by then.  I would love to hear from any of my
classmates from that era.

Yup, that's in California, a state with good weather!
My brother, Marc Mattox, also attended ALC.  He was there from 1958-1963.  He
then went to prep school in New York for his last two years.  He, however, is
web indifferent and has no email address.  You could get a message to him
through me.
For your information, his best friend, Greg Peak, who attended ALC during the
same years, passed away in a tragic boating accident in Canada in 1971.  I
was visiting their commune when the accident occured.

Hi Bobbie, love the website for La Castellana.  I went to Campo Alegre from 53-56 (6th to 9th).  I noticed that you had the oilbrat links.
Randy Trahan's updated page is now: http://randytrahan.addr.com/ocov/
and Mike Suchon has an oilbrats site at:  http://members.aol.com/msuchon/vob/
The Creole Annuitant reunion this year is listed on the second site, for anyone whose parent worked for Creole, Exxon.

It is such fun to find old friends.
