These marriages were performed in Allegan County between the years 1837-1873
and were reported by the officiating clergymen or justices but not recorded
by the early County Clerks. They were found by Esther Warner Hettinger,
County Clerk, in 1939, while checking early reports for other data. She then
recorded 44 in Liber I on the pages indicated, and 3 in Liber III
