
CARLOS ESTEVEZ, SCULPTOR
Carlos Estevez, showed a natural talent for painting and drawing at a young age. This talent led to wide recognition in many art contests.
Since 1978, he has called Texas home. Carlos studied art, oils and acrylics at the Glassell School of Art in Houston. He studied clay modeling and mold making in Austin at the Elisabet Ney Museum.
In 1992 Carlos produced his first sculpture. In 1997 he and his wife, Minerva, established Estevez Creations, Inc. Their love of animals is truly reflected in his work. Carlos feels, "Even though we as artists are imitators of God’s creations, I find delight in what can be accomplished in my work . I can make tangible the beauty of our wildlife."
Since 1997, Carlos’ work has been exhibited at numerous places: The Kentucky Horse Park Museum, the American Quarter Horse Museum, as well as fine gift stores and galleries throughout the United States. In April of 2003 he was commissioned by Country Artist to produce a new line called “All About Horses” the first 30 pieces to be released by January 2004.
Carlos is a passionate and genuine person. He is an important figure in today’s art scene. His vision, discipline and unlimited love for his work are reflected in his excellent sculptures. He knows that in order to make great sculptures, he needs to have patience and affection for the animals he portrays. A childhood passion for horses and wildlife, plus his incredible artistic talents, are truly reflected in his work.
These limited edition sculptures are cast in ground marble. Each piece is hand-painted differently in accordance with the colors and markings of the breed. Every sculpture of the edition is one-of-a-kind which offers the collector a unique work of art.
