Welcome to "Sponsor a Canisolida Foster Dog"

Contributions are tax deductible - we send acknowlegement letters for monetary donations for your tax purposes.

When a new foster dog comes into our program, we keep our focus on ensuring the excellent care of them while they stay in our sheltered care, awaiting their adoptive home or remaining in our care as a retirement dog. Keeping them nourished and vetted are primary, as well as ensuring they are comfortable and happy in a loving home environment.

At a usual minimum, foster dogs will stay in our foster care for a month, and most times their length of stay is longer. Of course, our retired dogs stay with is 'forever." Our sponsor program is based on the veterinary and other expenses required to care for a foster/retirement dog in our program.

If you are interested in sponsoring one of our special needs dogs, it is easy to do via the paypal donation link included with each dog's request! Our current dogs in need are:

WINNIE and FAITH

FAITH

Arrival to Canisolida: 8/1/09, Adoption: Just arrived, it will be a while before Faith and her pups find their forever loving homes.

Faith will require veterinary visits ongoing as needed for a healthy delivery and possible support for her pups, as she came to us with kennel cough and undernourished. Update - Faith developed mastitis while she nursed and her pups, therefore, required hand rearing (lots of formula!). In an interim visit, we also found out that Faith is heartworm positive. Once Faith's puppies go to their forever loving homes, we will focus on the veterinary needs of Faith. For now, we are focusing on improving her nutrition, having her gain much needed weight, and ensuring her life is very happy. Faith is a treasure and such a wonderful lady.

Please consider a donation for Faith with this donation link:

Breed: Mastiff Mix, Color: Fawn, Age: estimated at 6-7 years, so her birth year is approx. 2002 or 2003

Faith's Stats:
We are just starting our journey with Faith and will be ensuring she has all needed vet care provided to her and her pups. Since Faith came to us with kennel cough and undernourished, she initially requires antibiotics. As time continues, we will update with her further needs. To this point we have been billed for $145.00 worth of veterinary care and meds.
