The CMFRH Group Home

This is the main shelter area for the dogs of Canisolida Mastiffs Foster and Retirement Home, Inc. The CMFRH Group Home is a contemporary home that has undergone modifications to accomodate the needs of the homeless dogs that come into our program and who cannot find a suitable volunteer foster caretaker to take them into their individual home. The dogs living here are cared for by Cindy Wieland, the founder of CMFRH, Inc. Volunteers graciously help out with the needs of the dogs as well. The dogs living here are of many breeds, sizes, needs, and ages. Some of them are highly adoptable while others may have behavioral or medical needs that make them less able to find an adoptable home. Regardless, they are all welcomed and loved. The amenities provided to the dogs at the Group Home are 3 fenced natural acres, dog door access to the indoors & outdoors at all times, doggie beds and couches in abundance, 2 daily meals and snacks in between, positive happy training sessions with a professional trainer who we highly regard, timely and appropriate veterinary care (including spay and neuter), and daily play/interaction/cuddling. We completely avoid chaining, tieing out, penning, outdoor kenneling, crating for long durations, and lack of comforts. The dogs of the Group Home assume a free pack system, where they share their lives with one another and establish cooperative relationships with each other. Cindy and other humans to whom they are familiar are their pack leaders. All the dogs respect and love their human caretakers intensely. Dogs that cannot integrate into the dog group are provided with a spacious isolation area and we search for a better living arrangement for them (an adoptive or foster home) immediately so that they do not have to live in isolation. They are provided for well while they wait for a better situation. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN ADOPTING A GROUP HOME DOG, YOU MUST UNDERSTAND THAT THEY WILL COME TO YOU WITH THE GROUP HOME BACKGROUND AND MAY REQUIRE TIME TO ADJUST TO YOUR LIFESTYLE AND MANNER OF DOG CARE. Some of the group home dogs have lived here for years, some for months. These are all wonderful and fabulous dogs. We encourage potential adopters to consider the group home dogs because there may be a dog here that was made "just for you & you for them." You just never know, right? They may not have the complete polishing that the Individual Foster Home dog has, but that does not make them unadoptable or unable to love. That simply makes them have more character :) Email Cindy for more information or visitation information at: c.wieland@att.netClick here to access the webpage of the "Group Home Dogs." |
