Organization Information:

Canisolida Mastiffs Foster and Retirement Home, Inc. is a non-profit [501 (c) (3)] organization in the state of Ohio. We exist to assist/aid/help mastiffs in danger and in need. Special emphasis is on the English Mastiff, however, mastiff mixes, and other breeds and sizes of dogs may become a part of our program. We are a small rescue with a few foster homes, all of which are active and usually full. We act to support the volunteer homes in our program with adoptable foster dogs, forever foster dogs, and/or retired dogs and to engage/assist in new cases brought to our attention. We are very willing to help out other rescue groups. We carry out ongoing fundraising so that we can continue to help the dogs. CLICK HERE to read about our basic rescue procedures.

Available Dogs - More detail...

1. Bella
Bella is now ready to be adopted. She is completely up to date on all vet care and is doing great with the training we have been working on with her....click here to read more about Bella.

2. Sheba Sheba is a 2-3 year old very loving, sweet, adorable and COMPLETELY BLIND medium sized mixed breed spayed female. She weighs 50 pounds. Sheba was abandoned and now is in the loving care of one of our foster homes. Sheba is up to date on all vet care and just wants to be a good girl....click here for Sheba's Page.

3. The Group Home Dogs -
The dogs living here are of many breeds (mastiff, beagle, mixes), sizes, needs, and ages. Some of them are highly adoptable while others may have behavioral or medical needs that make them less able to find an adoptable home. Regardless, they are all welcomed and loved....click here to access more information about the group home dogs.

4. Hazel - - My name is Hazel or Hazel Bell when I am misbehaving. I am an approximately 2 year old female Husky mix. I am housebroken except for when I get excited. I am great with kids or anybody that gives me attention. I am best by myself but I do play well with other dogs...click here to access Hazel's Page.

5. "Wee One" ADOPTION PENDING This little boy was nearly hit by a car in the middle of the road. The girl who almost hit him didn't even recognize what he was until she got out of her car to take a look. Sweet little innocent being right in the middle of the road. She took him home and contacted me to assist. I will be getting him into the vet ASAP. He will be placed on a neuter contract as he is not old enough (my guess 5 or 6 weeks at best) to be neutered yet. He is calm most of the time...does do a little finger nibbling. I feel his breed is Boston Terrier/Parson Russel Terrier Mix. Working on getting him to eat. He did eat some boiled chicken. He is very tiny....click here for more information about this special little puppy.

Special Needs Dogs

Many times we care for dogs that have exceptional medical needs for major surgeries or major treatments (like heartworm treatment). Your monetary donation can help us pay for the expensive procedures such dogs require. Visit our SPONSOR page to see how!

End of Page Tidbits...

Titan is "caught" planting a wonderful kiss right on Dianne's face. And look how he presents her with his paw. Titan was an absolute jewel and we miss him so much!!!!!!

Atti squares off with a playful cattle dog on the pretzel tug game. The cattle dog won :)

There is nothing like the affection of a mastiff for his child....

...or for that matter any dog's love for his child!
