Rosie's Story
This
is Rosie when she was first photographed.
Rosie's owners called Cindy of Canisolida Mastiff Rescue knowing she could
not take another dog, but tried to see if she could help anyway. So Cindy went and met Rosie and took pictures
of her. Her family had to keep her tied out because their landlord did not allow dogs in the house. Rosie was only
14 weeks old.
Cindy got the help of the Dogs Deserve Better Ohio Reps, Christy and Lois. Through networking,
we were able to locate a shelter ( Citizens for
Humane Action Animal Shelter ) where Rosie would receive attention, training, and a screened
adoptive home. But Rosie had to wait one week before she could go there, and that is when Lisa of Moistmugs Mastiff Rescue stepped in and welcomed Rosie to her home for
a one week stay. On Independence Day, 2006, Cindy went and picked up Rosie and took her to Moistmug's. It truly
was Rosie's independence from life on a cable outside.
Rosie then traveled to Columbus to the big brand new shelter where she
met the very caring staff there. Bon Voyage Rosie! You will take a piece of Lisa's and Cindy's hearts with you
to your new home. We will never forget you, you sweet little cute chunk of puppy!

This is a great example of how people involved in animal rescue at different
levels can work together to help animals in need.
