PAPER   FANTASIES
(inspired by something or someone that touched my senses) we all have them
even if you don't know
you can ignore them
but they'll still show
bury them in propriety
or run away
attack them with morality
they still stay


all the fantasies
teasing your mind
you might grow up
but you can't leave them behind

all the fantasies
deep in your heart
push them down too far
and they'll tear you apart


that girl you want to make love to
that boy you want to just hold you
that car you want to show around
that thing that's in some lost and found
the career you would like to live
the love you would like to give
the secrets that you tell no one
the dreams that sometimes weight a ton
desires deep within your soul
your psyche struggles to control
you can forget them for a while
but repression effects your smile
some may be wild some may be tame
some may seem cool some may seem lame
some may be against the law
you're in trouble if they saw
but if they don't harm anyone
fantasies are where your fun
starts to take form if you share
and they're healthy if you care
let your fantasies take you
to do things you want to do
express them in honest ways
sing them when the music plays
write them so you don't forget
share them so you don't regret
I don't you to be haunted by
things you never dared to try

and if no one wants to share your dream
keep searching for someone who does
for all you are is all you bring
out from yourself - that is your cause

be the best person you can be
desire makes you mean something
don't be afraid of fantasy
write the words to the song you sing

create paper fantasies
and share them here with me
maybe someone will want to
share your fantasy
and bring it into
your reality
