...being some chronicles relating to what I do for money in this world...
"step by step I dream the plan
from my chair to walking man
this constant dream is on my mind
cause the light I see ahead
luminate the path I tread
I live to be the best I can"

alright, tear it up and shake it off... or rather, vice versa...
focus... after a dull week and then a weekend off with car repairs, the job search hasn't produced anything... so it's time to turn up the heat...
I sent another couple of dozen resumes out and followed up with phone calls... outcome: three interviews so far... one today for a property manager job, the property is still under construction so site supervision would be the first part, then screening applicants and hiring staff (though there might not be much staff) and then ongoing management... it's a HUD subsidized development, I'd be on 24/7 call, and we've not worked out the finances, benefits, and perks yet, so it may be more headache than it's worth in the long run... then again...
(listen to me be picky... that's actually a good sign)...
tomorrow I have an ICF Residence Manager interview... that's what I did for years up in New York, so I know the headaches involved there... the questions will be shift, advancement (since if it's a single residence manager position I'm stepping down a couple of levels and I'd like to climb the ladder relatively quickly), and benefits and stuff... then Friday there's a job through an angency that's still sorta vague but is listed as assistant manager... I'm hoping some of my other resumes get bites so a reasonable salary can be found...
and I have a call in to a few other management positions, including Tricom, which is the parent company for Pizza Hut, KFC, and Taco Bell... a couple of night clubs in the area, another private human resources organization, and a few more... and then a dozen or so applications were submitted for state jobs... and then the other hundred or so internet resumes floating around... so there oughta be reason for at least a little optimism (the property management job was one that contacted me after finding my resume out there somewhere)...
just keep remembering, there is always hope J
