A Journal of Sorts

"no more turning away
from the weak and the weary
no more turning away
from the coldness inside
just a world that we all must share
it's not enough just to stand and stare
is it only a dream that there'll be
no more turning away?
   yet another movie..."

~ Pink Floyd ~

spent the whole day bouncing from the computer to the car to the washer and dryer... yes, I finally tackled the laundry... well, maybe half of it... the rest will remain in the car until I figure out where to put it in these cramped quarters... I had hoped for more space than I have... sharing an apartment or house, I'd have space in all the closets and cabinets in the house... but renting a room, I only have the closet in the room... so bathroom stuff and linens and some kitchen stuff remains in boxes in my closet and in the car... the garage is so packed it's not easy to walk into...

anyway, some progress in real life and a little bit more moving in... dragging my feet... I'm not exactly sure I'm staying here... but at least I'm making a friend and I'm getting known by the servers at the hotel where we eat often...

in newsgroupland the same old games are going on... I wonder what sort of lives these people have... probably even less going on in them than in mine, judging from how much importance they give to the NG... I suppose I consider these webpages my online home as I've always felt home in my written gardens... but to give a public group the value of being a home that needs defending is a bit beyond logic for me... though I understand the process of falling into that mindset as I was there for a while when I was down and using it as an escape from reality... on the other hand, the mailing lists are healthier now...

so life goes on it's merry way and I've got cleaner clothes today and the sheets will have that just washed smell tonight so everything will be alright... or something like that J
