A Journal of Sorts

"someone keeps calling my name
someone keeps calling my name
or is it just the rustling of the wind
or is it just that I need a friend..."

~ Harry Chapin ~

I've started exploring online personal ads again (stressing that I am not looking for sex or romance, but friends and activity partners... hopefully I'll develop a social life offline too) and so I sent a few dozen hello messages out to locals just this morning... I've received two responses so far... surprising since I don't expect strangers to admit being lonely and having nothing to do except respond to personal ads on a Saturday night... course those who do increase the chances that they may be honest with themselves and that's what I look for most in someone (honesty, it's such a lonely word)... anybody real out there? J

actually, I think many online personals are faked by the people running the site just so they can look busy... and I think lots of others are ads for other websites or stuff or other things... marketing and all... anyway, it's a small step in the right direction... words are just part of life for me... gotta find some real world sharing too... so that's what I started doing today... and you? J
