2000 HEARTBEATS
"piece by piece I take apart
this complicated heart
and I hope to find
something I can prove is real
I can feel is truth
I can say is mine
that's all I ever wanted to be
the closer that I got
the further I could see
but when lovers change
and the night feels strange
we choose our road
 the letting go"

~ Melissa Etheridge ~

to the pain, he said (but then he was just bluffing)...
to the cross, they said (but they were into glory)...
to the joke, he said (but then he was quite scruffy)...
to the song, she said (and therein lies the story)...
and I said... if you believe in something that can be taken from you, then it is worth nothing outside of this world... so fool, what do you believe?...

and the fool replied...
if making a mockery of myself would save the world, I'd be George Carlin in a dress... Steve Martin in a tutu?... with lemon sauce?... Wacko Warner in a tuxedo?... in Tennessee?... with tennis shoes?... and a straw?... but alas, the only one saved is me... one down, billions and zillions and zeppillions to go...

it may take a while to get it right...

but as long as I can find the insanity to laugh at hell and heaven and all the mechanisms used to control and limit and restrict and repress and diminish and ultimately destroy life's experience in one breath, I should be ok... that's the letting go... laughter... at least between cathartic cries and orgasms...

and don't forget the giggles J

alas, when heartbeats are shared in words, so much is lost in the translation... and only those who understand can understand we can not understand unless we share more than words... but I really appreciate you for reading anyway - most serious J
