You Know Who You Are

they say what goes around comes around
well I really hope that's not true
cuz if what goes around really comes around
I wouldn't want to be you
when it comes back around to you

you know what you've done
you know what you've said
you know how you've lied
and until you're dead
it will haunt you inside
and eat through your smile
and then in the end
you'll pay for every mile

there are no free rides
all you took from me
will be asked of you
eventually
all bills must be paid
it's life's symmetry
believe it or not
what will be will be

your conscience
your heart
your spirit
your mind
your soul will not know peace
until you find
a way to forgive
for there's no forgetting
the things you have done
the things you're regretting

and for a while you might think you are free
but when the bill comes due
I wouldn't want to be you
and you'll wish you didn't do
all you've done to me

you know what you've done
you know what you've said
you know who you are
it's all in your head
it won't leave you alone
it corrupts true love
and then in the end
you'll lose all you dreamt of

if what goes 'round comes 'round
then you'll know in time
one way or another
everything must rhyme

it's a universal balance
to sustain energy
and someday you'll feel it too
and you'll wish you didn't do
all you've done to me

cuz in the end you did it to yourself
it's a universal balance
if what goes 'round comes 'round
really in reality
