Understand?

do you understand
do you understand me at all
do you comprehend
what I mean when I use the word friend

do you understand
do you understand how to fall
do you really feel
what it means to be alive and real

do you actualize
what's behind your eyes, inside
do you share yourself
or do you keep it for show on a helf

do you understand
life is at your command or denied
do you want to live
do you want to take, do you want to give

do you ask the questions I ask
do you answer them openly
do you think you feel honestly
are you aware of how much you can hide from yourself

do you want to know everything
do you want to share completely
do you believe in what you do
or do you think this world puts things on your shelf
just a game to play by some book of rules
just a way to get over and ahead of fools
who are there to fill your needs and desires
do you think you can get away with starting the fires
well what if what is really is true
is
that the last fool you fool... is you

do you understand?
do you understand me at all?
can you even imagine how far we could fall
if you gave it your all?

the higher you fly, the greater the risk
the greater the experience you missed
if you don't fly that high, reaching beyond the sky
to the understanding that anything is possible
even if we don't know how or why

do you understand?
do you understand me at all?
I don't mean any harm
I don't mean to cause any alarm

do you understand
do you actualize
do you understand?
