GETTING REAL
WITH WHAT WE FEEL

Feeling
are you afraid of feeling
are you afraid of sharing it
are you making the most of your live
or just grinning and bearing it?
a child looks to you for wisdom
for hope and insight and a way
do you pretend to have something
real to tell the child today?
what is your answer
what is your way
what is the cause that
you live for today
what is your reason
your purpose for life
do you hide in the shadows
full of fear and strife
or do you embrace the chances
and dance on the tip of the knife
of feeling...
what about life?
begging your pardon
I don't mean to offend
I'm just looking for answers
I mean no harm friend
if my questions upset you
then soon I'll move on
and you can forget me
as soon as I'm gone
visions of faeries and colorful pages
fill storybook minds that cross over the ages
enlightening some and scaring the rest
as a mother gooses and feathers her nest
a child looks to you for you are there
and nature tells the child to reach out and share
as the heart wants to simply show it can care
to love and be loved while we're here
that is the answer
that is the way
that is the cause that
child lives for today
that is the reason
the purpose for life
child won't hide in the shadows
full of fear and strife
child embraces the chances
to dance on the tip of the knife
of feeling...
that's about life
so does the child waste time reaching out to you
are you afraid of feeling or sharing as you do
do your words say slow down, calm down, come down
when the child dances around or laughs at the clown...
do you look up at life and wonder why you are down?
you are the answer
you are the way
you are the cause you
must live for today
you are the reason
your purpose for live
is to not hide in the shadows
full of fear and strive
but to embrace the chances
to dance on the tip of the knife
of feeling...
that is what life is about
feeling
that's about life
