Introductions Please!!!

Here is an example of how a new dog is introduced to the Canisolida Mastiffs Family.

Over the years I and my close mastiff-rescue pals have perfected the art of introductions. Sometimes it can occur quickly right away and other times the introductions need to be more gradual, taking days or even months.

Marley came to me accustomed to the canine foster home and felt comfortable being in the company of fellow canines. We knew she was going to be a good candidate for an introduction shortly after her arrival.

Here are eight pictures depicting her meetings with many of the Canisolida Crew.

1. Bessy is friendly to dogs and demonstrates to Marley that she is very nice to become friends with:

2. Marley wants to see and smell who this new companion is:

3. Harley is very enthusiastic and wants to show that he is one of the big men on campus. He greets new dogs boldly; Marley soon figures out he is a formidable male:

4. Pilot is anxious to see the new addition and finds a new big momma-type dog she must respect:

5. Sammy (apricot colored coat) is Marley's full sister. Sammy adores dogs and welcomed her sister to her new home:

6. Teensie shows hesitation and is skeptical as to whether this new dog will treat her nicely:

7. By this time, Marley is getting tired of meeting so many new dogs and is actually getting bored with it, as Titan comes to greet his new big sister:

8. The final introduction of Ashanta to Marley takes place. Marley has now gotten the point that this is a big family!

Thanks to Lisa of Moistmugs Mastiffs for taking all the pictures!
