Next planned match up for Tergat and Kamathi is the World Cross Country
Almond Blossom Cross Country (24th) (IAAF World Cross Challenge) Vilamoura, PORTUGAL Sunday, February 6, 2000 21 year old Charles Kamathi defeated Paul Tergat for a second time this season. Kamathi leads the rivalry 2-0. The next time they meet will be the world cross championship in Portugal. The Kamathi will pack his bags and head to Dunleer for the 31st Ras na hEireann. Also finishing third was David Chelule and in 4th was Steeple Gold Madalist Bernard Barmasai. Not a bad days work for the young Kamathi. Charles Kamathi took them both in the sprint for the line to win the race and assume the lead in the World Cross Challenge standings.
