1999 Tarheel Miata Club Calendar of Events

January - Officers will meet throughout the month plotting the destiny of the club.

February 27 - Paul Weller will host a demonstration by the folks at "Dent Wizards" on the fine art of making those dings vanish! This tech session will be followed by a pizza dinner arranged by Ruth Luke. The event begins Saturday, February 27th, 1:00 p.m. at "Dent Wizard" located at 2448 Battleground Avenue (U.S. 220), Greensboro, NC (behind Higgins Cycle). Anyone who wishes to volunteer to have one or more dents or dings removed from his/her car by this amazing process will get a small discount from the normal $79 per dent per panel price. At 2:30, we will caravan to the Pie Works Pizza Parlor at the corner of Lawndale Avenue and Pisgah Churd Road in Greensboro.

March 27 - Paul Weller and Ferd Carson are designing a day trip (caravan) to the Home Place Restaurant in Dinwiddie, Virginia. This should include back roads with plenty of twisties! Plus, other area Miata clubs may participate! See the March 1999 Newsletter for specific details.

April 29 thru May 2 - Paul Weller will host a trip to the Outer Banks. Click here for more information!

June 5 - A day trip to Chateau Morisette Winery sponsored by Pat Linko.

July 17 - Tom and Donna Byrd will host this year's TMC Birthday Bash at their lake home. Details to follow - see Tarheel Footprints Newsletter.

July 30 thru August 1 - The 3rd Annual Deal's Gap Run - the largest "non-event" event for Miata enthusiasts on the East coast! Last year 141 Miatas made the trip and enjoyed the main event - 11 miles with 317 turns through the mountains of North Carolina and Tennessee.

September 18 - Rally!!! Vivien and Ferd Carson will be the Rally Masters for this event.

October 1 thru 3 - A mountain trip along Skyline Drive led by Joe ad Brenda Williams.

November 13 - Drive & Eat to Fran's Front Porch. See article in the November issue of Tarheel Footprints!

December 4 - Tour of the Chinqua Penn Plantation in Reidsville, North Carolina followed by dinner at Grady's Grill. After dinner, the group will head over to the home of Nancy & Don Atkinson for the traditional White Elephant Christmas party and changing of the guard. Call the Weller's at 621-8502 to R.S.V.P.
